摘要:
A new radical called thej-radical is defined forS, the symmetric elements, determined by the Jordan multiplication rather than on the quadratic multiplication for prime radicals. If the ring is 2-torsion free then these two notions are seen to be equivalent. Next some results dealing with the prime and Levitzki radicals of the ring and the subring [Sbar], generated by the symmetric elements, are proved. Whenever 2R = Rthen [Sbar] inherits the prime and Levitzki radical of the ring.

摘要:
Projections are important in many fields of analysis, specifically, in approximation theory and signal analysis. They can be perceived to separate a vector (function, sequence) into a component in a chosen specific subspace and the residue, or the “signal” and “noise”. In the framework of linear theory a projection is idem-potent and an idempotent linear operator is a projection. When an operator is not linear the ideas are still partially applicable and useful. A simple property, complementary to idempotence, extends the analogy in a useful way. This is particularly so in the theory of non-linear smoothers, when selectors are analysed and compared in aLULU-structure.

摘要:
The present author (1984, 1987) has developed curvature collineation in Finsler spaces. Projective motion in a symmetric Finsler space was discussed by F.M. Meher (1972). An infinitesimal transformation is said to define a curvature collineation if the curvature tensor possesses vanishing Lie-derivative with respect to the transformation. The present paper is concerned with the study of curvature collineation in which infinitesimal transformation also admits projective motion in a Finsler space. The last section of this paper is devoted to discuss special cases where the vector field Vi(x) determines contra field and current field.

摘要:
Given a C*-algebraAand a suitable set of derivations onA, we consider the algebrasAnofn-differentiable elements ofAas described in [B], before passing to an analysis of important classes of bounded linear maps between two such spaces. We show that even in this general framework, all the main features of the theory for the caseC(m)(U)→C(p)(V) whereUandVare open balls in suitable Banach spaces, are preserved (see for example [A-G-L], [Gu-L], [Ja] and [L]). As part of the theory developed we obtain a non-trivial extension of the Kleinecke-Shirokov theorem in the category ofC*-algebras to unbounded partially defined *-derivations. This indicates the existence of a single mathematical principle governing both the non-increasibility of differentiability by continuous homomorphisms and the untenability of the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle for bounded observables.

摘要:
The smallest Fischer sporadic simple group F22has 14 maximal subgroups up to conjugacy as listed in [2] and [15]. The group 26:SP6(2) is a maximal subgroup ofF22of index 694980. We use the technique of the Fischer-Clifford matrices to constuct the character table of the group 26:SP6(2). The Fischer-Clifford matrices of 26:SP6(2) are used, together with the character tables ofSP6(2) and a maximal subgroup 25:S6SP6(2) of index 63, to construct the character table of 26:SP6(2).
