摘要:
Changing conditions in developing countries and growing differentiation between these countries are responsible for the intensification of technical co-operation in the field of quality assurance. The task of the German Technical Academy is to become a satisfactory instrument in facing this challenge of development policy. The Deutsche Technische Akademie (DTA) is concerned with projects of technical assistance in developing countries and with the education of foreign specialists and technical management staff from developing countries in the Federal Republic of Germany.

摘要:
Appropriate information means that the information should be applicable to the receiver. The South has a different historical, social and technical background, hence information shuld be geared to the requirement, otherwise it may become harmful. The complicated and sometimes rather subjective judgements concerning the recognition of grades is currently raising barriers againsr North-South co-operation. The use of sophisticated equipment in teaching does not automatically mean a high level. Co-operation between North and South means more than mere connection, it means a concern for one another.

摘要:
Higher education has been improving over a few years in developing countries: engineering education institutions have been developed or created. The Ecole Nationale des Ponu et Chausshs is participating in this building of new institutions and is providing a few of them with its assistance. Two examples are given of the methods employed by Ecole Nationale des Pontr et Chaussées. In both cases assistance is aimed at reinforcing the counterpart's capacities: for the ENSTP in Ivory Coast, the objective is to create a national faculty staB for the ENIT in Tunisia, it is to develop continuing education.

摘要:
A task force of distinguished engineering educators and industrialists appointed by the American Society for Engineering Education Board of Directors, after reviewing recent major reports on engineering education, identified eight recommend-ations that the committee considered to be of the highest priority for the United States. The recommendations relate to topics such as undergraduate curricula, the teaching of design and manufacturing, practice-oriented advanced degree programs, faculty recruit-ment, and career-long education for engineers. The report has been very widely quoted in reports, including those issued by federal agencies, the Congress, and academic institutions. A recent review indicates that significant actions on nearly all the recommend-ations are currently under way.

摘要:
Although the use of microcomputers and their associated software programmes has the potential to help faculty work more efficiently, their use is not yet as widespread as it might be and many faculty members are still unaware of how they might use computers both to facilitate their own research and report writing and as an adjunct to their teaching. Efforts to encourage greater usage of computers which emphasise the acquisition of appropriate skills only, in many instances appear to have limited long-term effectiveness. A multi-dimensional model for the promotion of educational change has been developed and tested in a stafl development programme to promote the awareness and use of computers to assist faculty at a large Australian institute of technology. The beginnings of the model and the programme are described together with the results of an initial post-programme survey. These represent the preliminaly findings of a longitudinal study of effective models for the promotion of educational innovation in higher education. The initial results suggest implications both for the teaching of computer awareness and for the building of an effective theory of innovative change in higher education [1].
