摘要:
There is a growing awareness in Ireland of the benefits to be derived from having closer links between the higher education sector and industry. In promoting and fostering such links the National Board for Science and Technology plays a catalytic role which is described in the paper

摘要:
Engineering education has a long and satisfactory developmental history in Greece. On the other hand, industrial development, which is the product of systematic government policy of the post-war period, presents mixed results. It is a fact that engineering education, at least to the extent represented by formal, structured university curricula, has not been associated in any direct way with industry, for a variety of reasons—structural, economic, and administrative, originating both in industry and university. The scene appears to be changing in recent years, under pressure from many sides. It remains to be seen whether the long overdue convergence of the two systems will materialise in the near future.

摘要:
After a brief introduction the extension of engineering education in the Netherlands after World War II is described. A scheme of the national education system is given. Some attention is paid to post-academic education in engineering and to practical training in industry. Throughout the paper the question of funding is emphasised. The core of the paper is devoted to a new phenomenon at the Universities of Technology in the Netherlands, namely the ‘Transfer Points’ and the help given to new entrepreneurs. A plea is made for a better contact between the Higher Technical Schools and industry, to improve the training and understanding of students as well as staff in industry and for enhancing feedback of experience in industry to the curriculum planners for the future.
