摘要:
The ERASMUS Programme has meant a leap forward in both the quality and the quantity of student exchange programmes in engineering. About 4700 engineering students will be involved in the first three years of the programme. There is a variety of organisational patterns in the inter-university co-operation programmes, ranging from bilateral exchanges of short duration (three months) to fully integrated multilateral programmes leading to a double qualification. The ERASMUS exchanges have proved to be highly beneficial to students: in addition to the basic academic training, the period abroad allows students to improve their language proficiency, obtain cultural and social enrichment, and develop important personal virtues like openness, adaptability and the ability to stand on their own feet.

摘要:
This is the history of four years of common work between two of the oldest educational institutions in civil engineering in Europe. This collaboration has concluded in the first Double Diploma in Engineering created in Europe which will be attained by some French and Spanish students in the near future. Ecole des Fonts et Ckausees of Paris and the Escuela de Ingenieros de Caminos of Madrid have a long history of cooperation which has assisted conclusion of this agreement. The text traces some details about the agreement and finishes with some considerations about the way to allow the free movement of engineers in Europe, and the general attempts to get a Directive for Engineers.

摘要:
In this paper we describe a successful exchange programme between a number of European technological institutions in the fields of Automatic Control and Computer Science which has existed for nearly a decade. Although the programme started initially through a research interaction between the professors, it now has major student exchange and teacher exchange components. The programme has been financed partly by the participating institutions and partly from EEC funds (ERASMUS, ESPRIT, Stimulation action etc.).

摘要:
‘The Franco-German Institute: an example of cooperation in higher education focusing on technical disciplines’. In 1978 the Franco-German Institute of Higher Education for Technology and Business (DFHI) was founded, with the aim of strengthening higher education on both sides of the frontier. Being integrated into the existing educational systems, it offers the first common course of study within German and French higher education. It should be noted that the DFHI is unique insofar as it trains binational engineers who are fluent in French. The DFHI is run jointly by the Fachhochschule des Saarlandes and the Universities of Metz and Nancy I; it is binational both in its administrative and its academic structures. Graduates are qualified, from a language and a technical point of view, to work in Germany as well as in France, thus meeting the growing demand for experts in trans-frontier cooperation. At present, the DFHI offers courses in the fields of Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Business Studies for some 160 students coming from the whole of France and West Germany. They are selected on the basis of a written application and interviews. Tuition centres on practice-orientated technical, economic and legal aspects of international cooperation and on language proficiency. Studies at the DFHI begin after two years of previous study in higher education and consist of two years, the first being spent at the Fachhochschule in Saarbriicken and the second at Metz or Nancy I (Civil Engineering only). After a total of four years, graduates are awarded a German and a French diploma as well as the Certificate of the DFHI.

摘要:
The paper describes the development and operation of joint study programme schemes, which lead to double awards. The essential prerequisites for an exchange programme are identified together with an evaluation of academic standards and teaching methods in each country. The process of obtaining equivalence and credit recognition between courses is presented, together with specific data relating to requirements for double awards. The experience gained in these exchange programmes is discussed and student performance is evaluated.

摘要:
The characteristics of the European ‘EMS’ course are presented, namely the entrance qualifications, its aims, the structure of its curricula, the eligibility of enrolled students with respect to scholarships, its efficiency in the direction of ‘Europe-capable’ technical education, the possibilities of gaining further British national degrees, as Master of Science (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), and the results reached up to now. In the academic year 1987/88, seven out of eight EMS-students from Osnabriick were in a position to get the Bachelor degree with good results at their first attempt. Furthermore it turned out that this way of engineering education will be the right one for a European career. The final condition of a fully developed system of binational European study courses is characterized as follows: the Fachhochschule Osnabriick together with their counterparts in France, Great Britain and Spain will offer three binational European study courses with double qualification and national graduation within the normal study period of four years. With the help of the ‘Credit Transfer System’ the examination regulations would allow capable students to get a qualification with three national degrees of three partner institutions.

摘要:
An overview of the status of robotics education over the world, with some more information for European institutions, is presented. Some thoughts concerning the structure of a separate robotics University curriculum are included. Although the data contained in the article are nonexhaustive, they are representative and lead to the conclusion that robotics education is presently in a good way of expansion and spread.
