摘要:
A review of recent works related to the concept of female ejaculation, defined as a partial, infertile homologue to male ejaculation, indicated that we have insufficient evidence to accept or reject the concept on scientific grounds. The claim that "female ejaculate" is similar to semen from a vasectomized male is without .foundation. Although recent discussion of female ejaculation has tended to focus on whether or not the fluid sometimes expelled from the urethra upon orgasm is invariably urine, the Bartholin's glands are another potential source of orgasmic expulsions which could properly be called "female ejaculate." "Grafenberg spot" is a neologism referring to an area which some women report is erotically sensitive when massaged via the anterior vaginal wall. "Urethral sponge" is another term which seems to refer to this anatomical1 phenomenological reality. The relationship between stimulation of this area and subsequent orgasmic expulsion has yet to be studied systematically

摘要:
The Framingham Heart Study has reported high rates of coronary heart disease among clerical women, compared to other working women and housewives. Using data from the National Health Interview Survey, we find that U.S. clerical women have the best overall profile compared to other occupation groups. They have low injury and chronic limitation rates. little restricted activity, and average health services use. The Framingham clerical women worked mostly before 1960 when clerical work was devalued and the combination of job and family roles put great pressures on women; contemporary clerical women may have more job satisfactions and fewer pressures from multiple roles, and thus lower health risks. In contrast to women, clerical men have a poor health profile compared to other employed men. They have more recent hospitalization and job limitations from chronic conditions. This suggests that men with serious health problems take clerical jobs that are not physically demanding. A health survey of Detroit adults indicates that Detroit clerical men match the national profile, but Detroit clerical women do not. Both groups are dissatisfied with their jobs, compared to other workers. The Detroit data suggests that role pressures and dissatisfactions contribute to poor health, and that people with health problems (especially men) gravitate toward clerical jobs. We need to know more about how perceived role burdens, role dissatisfactions, and weak coping skills influence health.

摘要:
This study sought to test a conflict theory model of decision-making in abortion. Complex, or conflicted, abortion decisions were defined as those occurring when the woman had desired pregnancy, when the abortion alternative was considered later, and when the decision process was lengthier and subjectively more difficult. Sets of personal and social variables, identified from previous research, were expected to require a more complex decision process. A second objective was to determine whether these variables would also predict previous contraceptive behavior. A large sample of abortion patients completed a survey of attitudes and behaviors related to the abortion decision and contraceptive usage. Results indicated that strong involvement with one's sexual partner tended to encourage contraception but complicated the abortion decision. Strong work commitment likewise encouraged contraception but appeared to simplify the abortion decision. While concern for personal health was significantly associated with contraceptive behavior, it was not related to the decision process in abortion. Interpretation suggested that prevention of unwanted pregnancy and the abortion decision are independent processes, both of which are affected by love and work but in opposite directions.

摘要:
This study investigates the comparatively high rate of work disability from coronary disease in women. A sample of working women and men hospitalized for acute myocardial infarction was followed for two years to ascertain patterns of labor market withdrawal. Women were more likely than men at 24 months to have withdrawn entirely from market work. Multivariate statistical analysis suggests this greater likelihood stems from differences in behavioral responses lo disease rather than from differences in disease severity. Economic incentives to resume work are shown to play an especially crucial role in these responses. Implications of these findings are discussed.

摘要:
Although diabetes plays a significant role in causing impotence in the diabetic male, its effects on female sexuality have only recently been studied. Surprisingly, no demonstrable effect on the capacity for sexual arousal or orgasm has been found in the diabetic female. This paper compares male and female anatomy, physiology, and neurology, and speculates about reasons for this sex difference.
