摘要:
The question of the actual wind pressure that will, in practice, develop on the conductors is important in the design of overhead transmission lines. The fact that the maximum gust will not take effect over the full span of a line has a profound effect on line design

摘要:
Power-suppy systems are highly complex and planning has developed into a sophisticated art. But it can no longer be undertaken in isolation, and a thorough understanding of the relationship between electricity and other economic and social parameters is essential. This article provides an insight into comparative experiences in electric sector planning in the Asia and Pacific region

摘要:
Unequal voltages or voltage unbalance on rural systems has been a known phenomenon for some time. This article discusses the causes and effects of voltage unbalance and gives a practical solution to the problem

摘要:
Pure soft copper in power-transformer windings may not be strong enough for units of low impedance or high rating. Increased strength may be obtained by alloying or cold working. Cold-worked copper will soften with time and temperature, so it is important to predict the effects of overloads and short circuits. A method of using Arrhenius plots to do this from laboratory measurements is described which shows that, for normal power transformers, conductor softening will not occur in normal service

摘要:
There is a continuously increasing number of electrical installations designed to operatefrom a normal ‘mains’ system that are called upon, from time to time, to operate from a standby or emergency generator. Due to the different natures of these two forms of electricity supplies it is by no means certain that the requirements for electrical safety can be complied with. The article investigates this problem and questions the present methods of specifying generators
