摘要:
The electron spin resonance (ESR) phenomenon, discovered by E. K. Zavoiskii in 1944 and widely employed in scientific research at present, can also be used as a method of chemical analysis for determining the concentrations of substances. The ESR method is based on the ability of atoms, ions, and molecules with unpaired electrons to absorb electromagnetic radiation of radio-frequency range in a constant external magnetic field.1The agreement of this process with the fundamental law of spectroscopy — the proportionality of the fraction of the radiation absorbed to the number of absorbing centers — enables the use of ESR in the determination of the concentration of paramagnetic particles using the appropriate reference samples.
