摘要:
The effect on tear evaporation of two artificial tear solutions is compared with that of an equal volume of saline instilled into the eye. Changes in tear evaporation rates (TER) were measured with a modified Servomed Evaporimeter in a cross-over study of nine subjects. Initial increases in TER were found with all three solutions; however, slight evidence exists for a faster return to baseline with artificial tear solutions.

The cavernous sinus has been described for over three centuries. Controversy still exists over the exact nature of the region and its neuroanatomy. Current points of controversy include the dural wall relations, the nature of the venous system, and the nervous system pathways. The clinical implications of current anatomical thinking are discussed.

摘要:
The refractive state and Snellen acuity of 532 and 640 eyes respectively were determined and correlated with the visibility of the flying corpuscle phenomenon of Scheerer used in evaluating macular integrity. A model BFE 100 Blue Field Entoptoscope (BFE) was used to elicit the Scheerer phenomenon. This study shows that Snellen visual acuity and refractive state are associated with the type of flying corpuscle movement seen (pulsatile or uniform) when using the BFE to evaluate macular integrity.

摘要:
Dopamine may play a role in form-deprivation myopia in chickens. Anomalies of the dopaminergic system are believed to be responsible for manifestations of symptoms in Tourette Syndrome (TS), a neuropsychiatric disorder. Visual anomalies have been identified in TS. In this paper, refractive error in people suffering from TS is compared with available population studies. Refractive errors in TS are found to be similar to those in the normal population.
