摘要:
SUMMARYA marine fungus isolated from egg cases ofUrosalpinx cinereais described asHaliphthoros milfordensis, a new species and new genus which is made the type of a new family, the Haliphthoraceae, of filamentous holocarpic Saprolegniales. The Haliphthoraceae include as well the new genusAtkinsiellaandAphanomycopsisScherffel.Synchaetophagus balticusis anomen dubium.Haliphthoros milfordensisis obligately marine but euryhaline. This fungus grows well in a synthetic sea-water medium containing approximately equimolar concentrations of glucose (or soluble starch or glycerol) and NaH·glutamate (or Na·aspartate). Vitamins are not required.

SUMMARYTwo new species are described from two lakes and a river in Washtenaw County, Michigan, namely,Rhizophydium pelagicumandRhizophydium horizontale, parasitic onColaciumsp. andStephanodiscussp., respectively. Further details in the life history ofAmphicypellus elegansand of a species previously noted by Canter as parasitic onRhizosolenia eriensisfrom England are given. New records for the United States are listed for the following taxa:Septolpidium lineare, Rhizophydium planktonicum, Rhizophydium fragilariae, Rhizosiphon anabaenae, Polyphagus ramosus, andEndocoenobiumsp.The author wishes to express his gratitude to Professor F.
