摘要:
Among nineteen granular formulations evaluated against green leafhopper, thiocyclam hydrogen oxalate, fensulfo‐thion, carbofuran, BPMC, MIPC and monocrotophos possessed good persistent toxicity while thiocyclam hydrogen oxalate, MIPC and BPMC exhibited a better knockdown effect. Of the twenty three spray formulations, phosalone, isofenphos, chlorfenvinphos, triazophos, monocrotophos, carbaryl and MIPC were better for persistent toxicity whereas monocrotophos, malathion, chlorfenvinphos, UC 54229 and phosphamidon showed considerable knockdown effect. Carbosulfan was the best insecticide for seedling root dip treatment and it was also effective in combination with chlorpyriphos. Granular formulations of thiocyclam hydrogen oxalate act on green leafhopper by volatalization from surface of the soil and translocation in the plant system. Utilization of these insecticides in integrated insecticide application methodology has been suggested.

摘要:
A total of thirteen pesticides were tested againstTelenomus remusNixon, an exotic parasitoid ofSpodoptera litura(F.). At field‐recommended dosage, fungicides (Dithane and Fytolan) and the acaricides (Sulphur and dicofol) did not affect the parasitoid. All of the insecticides included in the study (monocrotophos, phosalone, endosulfan, methomyl, methyl demeton, dimethoate, chlorpyriphos, quinalphos and carbaryl) proved detrimental to adultT. remus. However, these insecticides did not affect the parasitoid emergence from the parasitized eggs except chlorpyriphos and quinalphos. When fresh eggs, treated with these two insecticides, were exposed toT. remuspercentage parasitism was found to be poor whereas the eggs treated with other insecticides were found completely parasitized byT. remus.Spraying of chlorpyriphos and quinalphos should be avoided when this parasitoid is released.

摘要:
Field trials were conducted to study the magnitude of BPMC and carbaryl residues in and/or on jute foliage. Jute crop was treated with BPMC 50EC, carbaryl 50 WP and Sevimol 40 LV at 0.75 and 1.25 kg a.i./ha, twice at the interval of 15 days, starting 45 days after sowing. The samples of green foliage drawn at different time intervals were analysed colorimetrically. The initial deposits of BPMC and carbaryl in and/or on foliage varied from 73.51 to 103.18 ppm and 91.01 to 137.55 ppm respectively. The residues dissipated fairly rapidly. Dissipation followed a first‐order reaction and the half‐life values for carbaryl and BPMC varied from 2.79 to 3.16 and 2.17 to 2.31 days respectively.

摘要:
The population behaviour of flea beetles (Podagrica uniformaandPodagrica sjostedti)on the common okra(Abelmoschus esculentus)were observed at six different spray regimes of Cypermethrine insecticide applied 60 g/ha a.i.Podagrica uniformawas observed to be more abundant thanP. sjostedti.Spraying once every two weeks was found to be optimal while once‐weekly spraying showed a highly significant reduction in the population of the flea beetles. The yield response of okra was related to the population of beetles on the plant and was optimum at bi‐weekly spray regime, while an exceptionally high yield was observed under a twice‐a‐week spray regime of cypermethrine.

摘要:
The growth retardant effect of an extract of leaves ofDelonix regiaRaf. onTribolium castaneumwas determined by feeding first instar larvae and tracing their development up to the adult stage. The extract prolongs the development period of the treated insects and retards the growth. It also causes loss in body weight, reduction in larval size, poor development of larval skin and considerable larval and pupal mortality.
