摘要:
A two-dimensional, rectangular model of a proposed solar cell structure is analyzed as two plate elements bonded with an elastic continuum. The governing equations are formulated using the principle of minimum potential energy, with displacement components that vary linearly through the thickness of the adhesive layer. An approximate solution is constructed for a particular class of material properties and is characterized by a boundary layer near the unloaded edge. Both interface stress components achieve their largest values at the edge, and the maximum shear stress is independent of the Young's Modulus of the substrate.

摘要:
This paper discusses a numerical method for solving a coupled dynamical ther-moelasticity problem in a long hollow cylinder. The inner boundary conditions are the traction and the fluid temperature imposed on the inner surface of the cylinder, whereas the outer boundary is subjected to the ambient fluid temperature and is free of traction. This problem is solved by a finite element method in which the spatial and the time variables are discretized by several schemes. The study shows that the central explicit scheme for space discretization combined with a time marching scheme, which incorporates moderate damping, is suitable for this particular problem.

摘要:
The thermal component of the stress field produced by frictional contact between a graphite seal and a cast iron housing is calculated for a plane stress situation. Normal stress σyand shear stress σxywere found negligible in comparison to tangential stress σxContours of constant σxare presented.

摘要:
Stress distribution in a perfectly plastic disk caused by a circular heat source of constant output is investigated. It is shown that, dependent on the ratio of the radius of the disk to the radius of the heat source, Tresca's yield condition assumes different forms. In certain cases, the plastic zone is composed of two parts associated with different branches of the yield condition. The critical time for avoiding secondary plastic flow is discussed.

摘要:
The present paper deals with ehstoplastic thermal stresses in a thin plate with an insulated circular hole. The hole causes a disturbance in temperature distribution when the plate is heated uniformly through the thickness. A finite-difference method is utilized to determine the temperature distribution from the steady-state heat conduction equation. An incremental theory of successive elastic approximations is used in the analysis of the elastoplastic stresses in the plate.

摘要:
Numerical results obtained from the thermoelastoplastic analysis of low carbon steel under heating and cooling are presented using the procedure of Mendelson's method of successive elastic solutions. A1and A3transformations on heating, and martensitic or pearlitic transformation on cooling, are reasonably taken into account as the typical models of phase transformations. Mechanical and thermal properties of steel are considered to be temperature dependent.

摘要:
A solution for an antisymmetrical problem of uniform heat flow disturbed by a penny-shaped crack in a transversely isotropic medium is obtained using the techniques of Hankel transforms and multiple integrations. The thermal stresses and displacements in the crack plane are obtained in closed forms. The stress intensity factor is shown to be dependent upon the material properties.
