摘要:
A generalization of Kirchhoff's theorem for the classical wave equation to the case of a central system of field equations of coupled thermoelasticity is established in this paper. The theorem asserts that a pair (Φ, θ), where Φ and θ denote the thermoelastic displacement potential and temperature, respectively, can be expressed by surface integrals over the boundary of a thermoelastic solid whose kernels have the form of an infinite series satisfying the wave-like and heat-like equations occurring in the decomposition theorem for the central system of equations ([3]).

摘要:
The thermodynamical foundations of generalized thermoelasticity formulated by Lord and Shulman are reviewed and memory effects on the heat flux are generalized. An existence and uniqueness theorem for the evolution integro-differential equations is obtained using semi-group theory.

摘要:
This paper investigates the continuous dependence upon the initial data and supply terms of the solutions for the standard initial boundary-value problems within the context of the incremental theory of thermoelasticity established in [1]. A uniqueness theorem for solution of the initial boundary-value problem is also established. The results are obtained by using a method based on a Gronwall-type inequality.

摘要:
The constitutive equations in the elastic and the yield state are derived theoretically from the Clausius-Duhem inequality and the given yield conditions. All quantities are defined in a reference configuration, and the results obtained can be applied for large deformation. Functional theory and the theory of the internal state variable are treated; the materials in the former case have the memory effect, and those in the Salter case endow the combined work-hardening.

摘要:
This paper is devoted to the investigation of the influence of a temperature field on an elastic dielectric medium. In particular, thermal-stress problems concerning an infinite body and a bounded body are considered. A reciprocity theorem and some consequences of this theorem are also discussed.

摘要:
The existence of a generalized solution to a natural stress-flux initial boundary-value problem of thermoelasticity with one relaxation time is established. It is shown that the solution is the limit of a sequence of classical solutions belonging to a functional space of the Sobolev type.

摘要:
The field equations associated with Neale's variational theorem are developed and applied to the problem of buckling and postbuckling of heated, constrained flat plates. The resulting equations are a generalization of Karman's equations in rate form, having a constitutive equation in which the strain/curvature rates are a linear combination of the stress resultant rates. In the immediate neighborhood of a critical point, the theory predicts a substantial reduction of the buckling temperature due to plasticity effects. Further, for long strips, the force stress resultant in the short direction appears to decrease in absolute value after buckling, while the force stress resultant in the long direction appears to increase in absolute value.
