摘要:
Constitutive equations of thermoelasticity are presented for nonlinear anisotropic nonhomogeneous media in a convected coordinate system. The media are characterized by temperature-dependent coefficients. The stress-temperature tensor as a function of second- and third-order elastic tensors and of a thermal expansion tensor as well as relations between isentropic and isothermal elastic tensors are obtained. The effects of coupling of displacement and temperature fields in the cases of linear and nonlinear constitutive equations are studied for an isotropic homogeneous bar that is compressed and tensioned.

摘要:
The buckling behavior of moderately thick antisymmetric angle-ply laminates that are simply supported and subject to a uniform temperature rise is analyzed. Transverse shear deformation is accounted for by employing the thermoelastic version of the Reissner-Mindlin theory. Results for the classical thin-plate theory are obtained as a special case. Numerical results are presented for fiber-reinforced laminates and show the effects of ply orientation, number of layers, plate thickness, and aspect ratio on the critical buckling temperature. Finally, an optimization procedure is proposed for the design of laminates having maximum resistance to thermal buckling.

摘要:
The role of edge stiffeners on the thermal stresses and buckling of thin elastic rectangular plates is examined. The edge stiffeners always affect the distribution of the in-plane stresses. They can either help or kinder the thermal buckling of plates as compared to a flat plate. Usually a reinforced plate must be thicker than a flat one to prevent buckling.
