摘要:
This paper is concerned with a method for calculating the thermal-stress distribution in a nonhomogeneous medium whose shear modulus and coefficient of thermal expansion are assumed to be functions of z. The solution of the problem is determined by using displacement functions. A solution is then derived for the thermal-stress distribution in a nonhomogeneous, thick elastic plate under steady distribution of the surface temperature. Numerical results are presented.

摘要:
Analysis of a healed punch moving over the surface of a thermoelastic half-space is carried out for temperature and stress distribution in the medium. The formulation results in a mixed boundary-value problem independent of time in a moving nondimensional coordinate system. Exponential Fourier transforms are applied and the resulting system solved to obtain a general solution in terms of the functions expressed in the form of inverse Fourier transforms. Specifically, closed-form solutions are obtained for flat, cylindrical, and wedge punches. For a uniform temperature distribution the results derived agree with those available in the literature. Also, in the case of a concentrated force moving on the surface of an elastic half-space the solution obtained agrees with that in the literature.

摘要:
In this paper, the transient thermal-stress problem in a plate subjected to frictional heat generation in rolling ( or welding) is theoretically analyzed with the consideration of the thermomechanical coupling effect. Numerical evaluation is carried out for the temperature distribution, thermal stresses, and thermal deformation in a flat plate heated by linear heat sources which are located symmetrically on both surfaces and which move with constant velocity.

摘要:
This paper considers laminated beams consisting of layers of different materials fastened together by thin adhesives. The stresses that result from subjecting the beam to temperature stimuli are calculated. The problem is treated by two-dimensional elasticity theory in conjunction with the variational theorem of complementary energy. A pair of governing differential equations is developed, and boundary conditions concerning stress-free surfaces and ends of the beam are satisfied. The calculation of the distributions of interlaminar normal and shear stresses shows that high stress intensity occurs in the end zones of the beam. Thus, the satisfaction of end conditions is of prime importance in the analysis of laminated structural elements. Delamination failure-when it occurs - will probably start at the ends of the beam, This agrees with observed failures of laminated structural elements subjected to stress-free end conditions.

摘要:
This paper deals with two-dimensional coupled thermoelastic problems under the assumption of state of plane strain. The method uses the Laplace transform, taken over the temporal variable, along with the separation-of-variables technique. The general solution is obtained in the transform domain without introducing thermoelastic potentials (direct approach). As an application, the Lamb plane problem is investigated for two different loading conditions. The steady-state (large times) temperature solution obtained in this investigation is in full agreement with that obtained by a previously published different method.

摘要:
The influence of a quasi-stationary temperature field on the stress state of a thin plate on an elastic half-space is analyzed. A numerical method based on the finite-difference method is derived with regard to the contact stresses, including the shear stresses in the interface between the plate and the subgrade. The special case of central symmetrically loaded plates is considered.
