摘要:
Using the hyperbolic heat conduction model, thermal stresses generated within a rapidly heated thin metal plate are investigated numerically. The effects of different parameters such as the form, duration, amplitude, and penetration depth of the heating source on the temperature, thermal moment, deflection, and thermal stresses are studied. It is found that under ultra-fast heating of very thin plates, the hyperbolic heat conduction model must be adopted to model the thermal behavior.

The problem of assigning a prescribed thermal stress distribution in a structural part during its thermoelastic deformation is discussed in the first part. The theorem comprising the necessary and sufficient conditions for producing such a prescribed thermal stress distribution is formulated. An objective function is introduced to solve the simple problem of uniaxial stress states in rods. In general, such a function puts the posed problem into the class of optimization problems of the mechanics of deformable solids. Illustrative examples are explicitly solved. The problem of assigning a prescribed thermal strain distribution in a structural part during its thermoelastic deformation is briefly discussed in the second part. A direct approach for its solution is proposed when keeping the thermal stress field constant. The theoretical fundamentals of the method are based on Maysel's formula of uncoupled thermoelasticity. The numerical examples show the effectiveness and reliability of the proposed algorithm.

Thermoelastic interactions in an isotropic homogeneous elastic half-space are studied using mathematical methods under the purview of the GN model of linear theory of generalized thermoelasticity. Of specific concern here is the propagation of waves owing to ramp-type heating of the bounding surface, which is either (i) traction-free or (ii) held rigidly fixed whereby the displacement is constrained. Using the integral transform approach, approximate solutions valid in the small time range are obtained for the situation when Fourier conductivity is dominant. Also exact solutions for temperature, displacement, and stress fields are obtained for the same problem for cases where conductivity is ignorable. Numerical estimates are also obtained for a particular example.

An exact static solution for the axisymmetric boundary value problem of a transversely isotropic semispace subjected to a point heat source is constructed by similarity transformations. The closed-form expressions for the temperature and components of displacements and stresses are derived. In the particular cases of uniform and parabolic-type temperature distributions on a circular area of the surface, the expressions for the displacements and stresses at a distance z beneath the surface are determined. The Mathematica software is used, and the numerical results are presented on graphs depicting the spatial variation of the displacements and stresses in a semispace of cobalt material.

Based on the three-dimensional anisotropic thermoelasticity theory, Green's function solutions are presented for a steady heat source in a two-phase transversely isotropic solid. The mirror reflection method is used and a general expression of the solutions in the Cartesian coordinate system is obtained. It is also shown that the solution includes the special cases of a homogeneous transversely isotropic elastic solid of infinite space and of semi-infinite space. In addition, numerical examples for the titanium-zinc composites are given.

Thermonuclear fusion process implementation has many material problems and one of them is related to the removal of impurities from plasma. In the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), a divertor concept has been incorporated for this purpose. In this work, the development of a micromechanical model for functionally graded materials (FGMs) is presented and its application to thermal-elasto-plastic analysis is discussed for the case of the W-Cu FGMs for the ITER divertor plates. The model allows the prediction of basic properties of the FGM and computations of thermal stresses; and, in some limits, it may be used for pre-design evaluation of strain stress distributions and inelastic behavior. The model is found to be very useful at the first stages of graded materials design.
