摘要:

This noninvasive nuclear imaging technique is yielding diagnostic information on myocardial metabolism in cardiovascular disease. It is being used in clinical studies to localize and size myocardial infarcts and to assess the effect of calcium entry blockers on ultimate infarct size. Other clinical capabilities are suggested by animal studies now in progress.

摘要:

Revascularization of diseased coronary arteries without open heart surgery is now possible by means of this new procedure, which utilizes arterial catheterization and balloon dilatation to relieve stenosis. Patients with a short history of severe, medically unresponsive angina and angiographically documented single-vessel disease appear to be the most suitable candidates.
