摘要:
The prolific sympathetic innervation of the heart permits synthesis of about 90% of the myocardial norepinephrine requirements within the organ. In congestive failure, the endocrine-like activity of the heart is almost totally eliminated. There is evidence that this deletion may deprive the failing heart of a normally available source for the augmentation of its contractility.

摘要:
Available for more than three decades, this approach to the most common cancer in man is still not widely used despite its 98% cure rate. One reason is that misunderstanding exists concerning the role of zinc chloride in the procedure: It is not a topical chemotherapeutic agent but serves to fix the lesion for surgical excision. The steps in the procedure are repeated until all tumor growth has been extirpated.

摘要:
Monitoring of induced dumping in conscious, unsedated animals has shown that the hemodynamic responses typical of the syndrome are phasic in character, with initial changes in splanchnic vascular resistance and flow rapidly yielding to efforts by the systemic circulation to compensate. Mitigation of this phasic response can probably be achieved pharmacologically, opening the way to greatly improved therapy.
