摘要:
Six gastropod species are described, including four named new species,Cinclidonema dignitas, Cycloscena semeia. C. glabra, andNaticopsis extensa. Internal and external correlations of the New Zealand Permian based on gastropods are discussed.

摘要:
Agonisca corbiensisn. gen., n, sp., is described from the Kaihikuan Stage of Corbies Creek and Mt St Mary, Waitaki Valley. Though possessing a typical trigoniid hinge,Agoniscaresembles certain members of the Myophoriidae in its lack of defined posterior area and marginal carina and in its simple concentric sculpture.

摘要:
The area mapped, south-east of Middlemarch, is underlain by schist but also includes several small Tertiary outliers of basanitic volcanic rocks resting on a thin formation of quartz sands and conglomerates. In this paper the lithology, mineralogy, and structure of the schist are described. The following conclusions are drawn: (1) bedding in a wide range of thicknesses is recognisable in the schist, (2) the area lies within a biotite and possibly garnet zone of metamorphism, (3) retrogressive metamorphism occurred and appears to have been accompanied by a deformational phase, and (4) there were at least two phases of deformation during the metamorphic period, the first possibly having produced large-scale recumbent folds.

摘要:
The structure of the metamorphic rocks forming the Southern Alps in South Westland, New Zealand, is described. Metamorphic grade increases north-westwards from greywacke and argillite east of the Main Divide through Chlorite Zone schists to high-grade schists and gneisses of the Biotite, Garnet, and Oligoclase Zones. The metamorphic zonal sequence is interrupted and repeated by post-metamorphic strike faults and folds, and terminated on the north-west by the Alpine Fault.
