摘要:
AbstractThere has been a dramatic increase in the use of cellular telephones over the past several years. Concurrent with this increase in usage is increasing reports of cellular telephone interference with the operation of medical devices. Detection of cellular telephone emissions in those areas of the clinical environment in which their operation is banned or restricted has become an imperative challenge for risk management. Clinical Engineers at the Biomedical Engineering Department of Texas Children's Hospital performed “real world” tests of two Cellular telephone detectors using radio sources commonly encountered in the clinical environment. These tests are indicative of the problems of detecting cellular telephone emissions as opposed to emissions by devices in routine use by hospital personnel.

摘要:
AbstractThe assessment of body fluids by monitoring whole-body electrical impedance changes during hemodialysis has found expanding application. However, the relationship between total body water content and extracted fluid obtained by various regression equations, although featuring high correlation, has the inconvenience of large dispersion, preventing more accurate estimation of the individual patient condition. Hence, its seems reasonable to consider impedance values as strongly individual parameters for each subject. We derived regression equations based on relative impedance changes yielding better accuracy compared to the impedance index H2/Z used by many researchers.Hemodialysis patients and especially diabetics, are usually subjected to multiple procedures for long periods of time (sometimes for years). Therefore, we tried to extract individualised relations of impedance changes with respect to ultrafiltration, with an average error of only 225 ml.
