摘要:
The article discusses the methods used in problem solving for a pressure fluctuation in the distribution system. Adjusting the set points for booster switches has solved most customer complaints about pressure fluctuations. In addition, the adjustments saved the utility money in electrical consumption, wear on the booster stations, and maintenance on the distribution system.

摘要:
The key to preventive maintenance is an awareness not only of what makes the system go, but what the system is telling you it needs to keep going. Fluids and their levels, filters, gauges, hoses, and the sounds of pumps and motors all keep a running dialogue as to how they are doing. Topics covered in the article are hydraulic fluids, system monitors, hoses, pumps, and cylinders.

摘要:
To install a meter, the meter is lifted up and inserted between two flanges. Many times, when one flange or the other is rotated a little bit too far or not quite far enough, the bolt holes do not line up. The flange level, developed by the City of Joliet, takes the trickiness out of tightening and leveling meter flanges. Materials, costs and instructions for constructing the flange level are included.
