摘要:
This article describes a chlorination system developed by the Antrim, New Hampshire water department to serve as an interim response to new state regulations aimed at improving chlorination system performance and reliability. A temporary solution was sought since longterm changes to the water system were planned, but not yet in place. The new system involved the replacement of a disk meter with a turbo meter equipped with a pulse generator. The new meter runs an electronic metering pump via a pulse‐to‐pulse analog converter, an arrangement that serves as the primary chlorination system. A back‐up system consists of a 12‐V DC electronic pump that operates in the event of mechanical difficulty or loss of normal power. In the event that normal power should fail, a simple switching device automatically starts the back‐up pump, which operates on battery power.

摘要:
Hot, humid weather can be dangerous for workers who must work outdoors. Outdoor workers often suffer from heatstroke, heat exhaustion, heat cramps, and fainting. This article lists precautions to take when working during hot summer weather.
