摘要:
The American Water Works Association has established a small systems program to help small systems comply with the Safe Drinking Water Act, and to help operators develop expertise in operations, management, finance, legislation, and regulation. To accomplish these goals AWWA plans to develop instruction and training packets; produce publications containing general, rather than technical, information about small systems; design an outreach information system; and work with rural water organizations.

摘要:
Specifications for the construction of a meter test cart and a wire rack are given. Meter test carts eliminate the potential of tripping over meters placed on the floor, and also prevent meters from rolling, which can damage the meter generator or other meter parts. A meterwire rack can be used to remove meter wire from its spool in the field. Because the wire feeds easily from the rack, it is perfect for one‐man jobs.

摘要:
A process for testing polymers at full plant scale is outline in this article. First, coagulation effectiveness is determined via a jar test or other testing procedure. The final step is plant testing. A streaming current monitor (SCM) in combination with an existing pilot filter is recommended to improve coagulant testing in the plant.

摘要:
Installation of four new source meters and the repair of an old source meter resulted in financial and operational benefits for Trentwood Irrigation District No. 3 in Washington State. Repair of the broken meter showed that its pump was not delivering water and had not been for many years. Installation of four source meters led to the discovery that the district's total daily water demand during the fall could be supplied by one pump. The combination of the money saved and charging for water on a cost‐of‐service basis allows the district to be financially successful.
