摘要:
The Southwest Florida Management Water District is one of five regional water management districts charged by the state to manage and protect the state's water resources for the public. Key to the District's mission is a water conservation program that focuses on leak detection. The District's leak detection program offers several benefits: utilities save money in pumping and treatment costs; the District conducts the survey at no charge; and finding and fixing a leak conserves water.

摘要:
No amount of money can compensate for a worker's death or disability. As water suppliers, our main concern is to prevent needless accidents and injuries from occurring in the first place. The best way to do this is through a strong safety program. Besides protecting workers, a safety program can save a utility a lot of money. The article lists the costs incurred by a utility for unsafe practices.

摘要:
This month's question asks whether Cryptosporidium from a surface water supply could pass through conventional treatment filters and into the distribution system while turbidity levels were maintained well below 0.5, and while remaining in compliance with microbiological requirements. The article discusses how traditional measures of water purity do not apply to Crypto. It discusses protective measures and operational goals to minimize the Crypto threat.

摘要:
When customers call to report low water pressure, they usually insist that the problem is caused by the water district. Using this gadget, you can trace the source of the problem. Many times the problem is in the customer's home and, therefore, is their responsibility. Materials and construction information are included.

摘要:
As most of us know, it can be very difficult to install new washers in meters. To remedy this problem, we constructed a device that uses a pry bar with sharp ends to install new washers in meters. This brief article illustrates this procedure.
