摘要:
The topic of this month's “Gimmicks and Gadgets” is the use of stoplogs. It is sometimes necessary to stop the flow of water in a channel for repairs or maintenance. A flat gate or stoplog is placed into slots on each side of the channel. The gate should be safe, lightweight, and economically built. After measurement of the necessary values of head water and clear span, the stoplog nomograph included in the article indicates the correct stoplog thickness and the end bearing length.
