摘要:
This article presents ideas and recommendations for celebration of National Drinking Water Week. Some suggestions include, holding an open house with displays, giveaways and contests, public activities such as official proclamations, tree plantings, bulletin board displays in city hall, public library, or local schools. Promotional kits and public service announcements are available from AWWA.

摘要:
The Bolton Point Water System, in Ithaca, New York, serves a rapidly developing area, where several water main extensions go on‐line every year. In order to improve the water main installation procedures, Bolton Point distribution personnel developed a water main chlorination unit. The device operates on pressure from an existing water main. No pumps, generators, or engines are required, making the unit easy to transport and set up. Materials needed to construct the chlorinator and costs involved are presented.

摘要:
There are a number of different types of manometers and all work on the same principle, the displacement of a fluid in direct proportion to pressure. This article discusses the U tube manometer, well‐type, and inclined manometers. Also discussed is the use of manometers to measure pressure differential.

摘要:
Often, shortcuts are so automatic that the real way of doing things gets lost. If you understand the logic of conversion factors, it is possible to troubleshoot conversions that give you problems. Performing the same math steps on units and numbers allows you to solve most conversion problems with logic rather than memorized formulas (although the conversion numbers must still be memorized). Examples of conversion factors and logic followed are given.
