摘要:
This month's feature consists of two tools. A valve box cleaner, constructed from a shovel cut in half and bent to fit inside a valve box, is used to remove dirt, gravel, sand, and small rocks. A hud valve wrench, made from a hud wrench fitted with a square fire hydrant coupling, allows the user to reach any depth of buried valve in the entire Kennewick, Washington system for which it was designed.

摘要:
In the November 1979 issue, Opflow solicited assistance for an operator who was having trouble tapping into 10‐ and 12‐in. PVC pipe under pressure without splitting the pipe. Suggestions received include consulting a booklet which deals specifically with this problem, using a deep shell cutter with a combination drilling and tapping tool, and using particular brands of shell cutters.
