摘要:

Trauma quality management has changed formats and titles so many times in the past 10 years that to keep up with all the trends seems impossible. Throughout these changes, the makeup of the trauma committee has also changed and expanded. As case managers and nurse practitioners are added, another significant player in the trauma circle must also be considered.The role of the medical examiner or forensic nurse specialist is complex. Forensics is often considered equivalent to pathology. Forensics, however, includes living as well as deceased patients and events. Hence, it is essential to recognize the value of the forensic specialist in evidence collection, documentation, mechanisms of injury, patterns of injury, and complications after the primary event. The medical examiner plays a key role in the quality management of the trauma patient.
