摘要:
A comparative cyclic voltammetric study of the hydrogen and deuterium sorption into a thin layer palladium electrode has been performed in acidic and basic solution containing rubidium cations. As in the case of other alkali cations, rubidium appears to clearly influence the α - to β- phase transition only in basic solution.

摘要:
A DPCSV procedure for the determination of selenium (IV) with a prior preconcentrative coprecipitation on iron (III) hydroxide has been developed. The experimental conditions for coprecipitation of selenium (IV) onto iron (III) hydroxide, viz. pH, iron (III) concentration, volume of aqueous phase and selenium concentration, were optimized. The coprecipitated selenium (IV) is dissolved in 10 ml of 0.1 M HCl and analysed using DPCSV in the presence of copper (II). Selenium concentrations as low as 10–100 ng present in 500 ml of the aqueous phase could be determined. The method is precise and has been applied to the analysis of sea water and reference material samples.

摘要:
Capillary zone electrophoresis is a highly efficient analytical technique that has been shown to be particularly useful for the analysis of isomers. Using a cathodic injection and anodic detection scheme, ortho-, meta- and para-hydroxybenzoic acids were separated in a fused-silica capillary column with a phosphate buffer at pH 10.3 (25.0 mmol/1 phosphate + 0.20 mmol/1 cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) + 10% (v/v) 1-propanol with an applied voltage of 10 KV followed by direct UV detection. The use of CTAB as electroosmotic flow modifier allows the rapid separation of the three isomers by reversing the direction of electro-osmotic flow. The influence of pH, CTAB concentration and organic solvents on the migration behaviour of the solutes were also studied.

摘要:
The oxidation of cobalt(II) complexes in tris(hidroxymethyl)-aminomethane (TRIS) buffers in aqueous medium, by dissolved oxygen, is strongly accelerated by sulfur(IV). The process is still faster in the presence of Mn2+. The reaction is adequate for S(IV) determination as it is stabilized by the amine and provides an analytical curve, with a slope as high as 7.4 × 103L.mol−1.cm−1at 230 nm referred to the concentration of cobalt(III) formed, proportional to the sulfite concentration. The method is being used for S(IV) determination in sulfur hexafluoride aged under electrical stress. It presents the advantage of avoiding the use of toxic sodium azide from the former procedure.
