Spectrophotometric data used in connection with HAacidity function yield pK1=−3.3(K1= [H2SeO3][H+]/[H3SeO3+]);potentiometric and spectral measurements give for pK2and pK3data in agreement with the literature. At pH > 10 selenite undergoes a fast photochemical reaction, preceded by a rapidly established acid-base equilibrium. Products of this reaction undergo a slow reaction which is second order in selenite.

摘要:
The florescent characteristics of the complex formed by 1, 5-dihydroxyanthraquinone with Mg(II) in aqueous ethanol (λex490 nm,λem=600 nm; pHap=9.1-9.6; 10% H2O; reagent concentration=4×10−5M) are described. The stoichiometry and the stability constant (1:1 and log K=4.90) are determined. A new fluorometric method for the determination of 10-100 ppb Mg(II) is proposed.

摘要:
Carboxylic acids were determined spectrophotometrically by converting them into 2-nitrophenylhydrazides. The coupling reaction of carboxylic acids with 2-nitrophenylhydrazine was effected by a water-soluble carbociimide, 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide, and proceeded efficiently in aqueous solution buffered at pH 4.5 with pyridine and hydrochloric acid. The yields of hydrazides from acetic and benzoic acids were nearly quantitative. The reaction mixture was then made strongly alkaline, and after heating to reduce the blank absorbance, the absorbance of the hydrazide was measured at around 540 nm. Calibration curves of various carboxylic acids were linear between 0.02 and 0.5 μmol through the origin.

摘要:
Analysis of small samples of fish eggs, rat brain sections and aquatic macro-invertebrates for 78 PCB congeners, hexachlorobenzene, octachlorostyrene, p, p′-DDE and mirex is described. With a gas chromatograph equipped with an Apiezon L coated glass capillary and electron capture detector capable of determining 10 ng/ml of analyte in hexane, a 10 mg sample may be analyzed with a precision of better than ±5% relative standard deviation.
