摘要:
Protriptyline, a tricyclic antidepressant, was converted to its heptafluorobutyramide using heptafluorobutyrylimidazole as the acylating agent. Conditions for the gas chromatography of the derivative and its quantitation by an electron capture detector were established. The smallest detectable amount of the protriptyline derivative was 0.05 nanogram. Isolation and purification procedures were devised which permit the determination of the drug in biological materials without interference from reagents, drug metabolites or naturally occurring substances. Protriptyline extracted from plasma, erythrocytes, urine and tissues was determined in concentrations as low as 10 nanograms/ml.

摘要:
A monitoring system for recording very fast variations in blood levels of32P-labeled compounds is described. The flow-cell used is suitable for continuous determinations in anesthetized small laboratory animals (e.g. rats). The technique reported has been developed for hard beta-emitting isotopes. However, changing the counting unit, the described flow-cell can be adapted for gamma-emitting isotopes. With our system, efficiencies of the order of 40% have been obtained for32P in whole blood.

High-boiling constituents included in commercial first grade benzene solvent were investigated by thin layer and gas chromatography, UV, IR, NMR and mass spectrometry, and the presence of di-n-butyl phthalate and di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate was confirmed.

摘要:
The results of spectral studies of iron(II) protopor-phyrin IX and iron(II) hematoporphyrin IX with several substituted pyridines are reported. The existence in solution of an iron(II) porphyrin complex coordinated to a water molecule and to a substituted pyridine was shown by isolation of the complex from solution. The complex isolated was dimeric inono-4,4′-dipyridyl diaquo iron(II) hematoporphyrin. Addition of ethanol to the aqueous solvent inhibits coordination of iron(II) porphyrins with substituted pyridines. The protoporphyrin ring enhances coordination relative to the hematoporphyrin ring.
