摘要:
Differential (δ A), second derivative (D2) and differential second derivative (δ D2) ultraviolet spectrophotometric methods have been described for the quantitiative estimation of clonazepam, diazepam and medazepam in pharmaceutical formulations such as drops, tablets and capsules. Interferences due to excipients and diluents are thereby avoided. Accuracy of the analyses with the proposed procedures is significantly greater than the conventional spectrophotometric and official methods.

摘要:
Four two-component mixtures have been assayed using both Vierordt's and first derivative spectrophotometric methods. Such mixtures are acepifylline and phenobarbitone, phenylbutazone and amidopyrine, procaine and caffeine, and sulphamethoxazole and trimethoprim. These selected applications illustrate the relative ease and simplicity offered by first derivative spectrophotometry for the assay of two component mixtures with spectral interferences from matrix formulations.

摘要:
A new type of modified electrode is proposed, based on the thermosealing of carbon and a polymer in different proportions. The mode of preparation and the performances of this new model of polymer electrode are described in details. The potential range is larger than with other electrodes, particularly in the anodic range. Some performances realized on the behaviour of pharmaceutical compounds are described.

摘要:
Several radioimmunoassay methods for serum 17β-estradiol are presently in use. Methods that have been reported for the determination of 17β-estradiol require preliminary extraction of the steroid and, in some cases, chromatographic separation. Ovulation induction in anovulatory women can be accomplished by the serial administration of gonadotropins (Pergonal). Rapid and accurate determinations of serum 17β-estradiol are necessary to adjust the daily gonadotropin dose. In order to meet this requirement, a direct and rapid radioimmunoassay for serum 17β-estradiol was developed in our laboratory that allows the determination of 17β-estradiol levels in up to fifty samples within 3 to 4 h without the need for prior extraction or purification.

摘要:
A method is described of fast spectrometric determination of glucose oxidase activity based on enzymatic reduction of benzoquinone to hydroquinone and on the measurement of the rate of increase of hydroquinene absorbance at 290 nm. The enzymatic activity is deduced from the initial rate. The method is rapid and sensitive.

Model peptides, Gly-Gly-Lys-Arg, Arg-Lys-Asp-Val-Tyr, and Pro-Gly-Lys-Ala-Arg were reductively alkylated with [2H6]acetone and sodium borohydride to assess the effects on peptide behavior. Lysine residues were converted to ε-N-isopropyllysine which eluted between phenylalanine and histidine on amino acid analysis. Amino terminal groups were also modified to an extent which depended on the particular peptide (glycine 100%, arginine 30%, and proline 10%-20%). High voltage paper electrophoresis of native and isopropylated peptides showed similar properties except for minor decreases in the mobility of the modified peptides due mainly to increased molecular weight. Isopropyllysine was not an effective substrate for trypsin, and α-N-isopropyl-amino acids did not form dansyl chloride derivatives. These findings should aid in the location, by peptide mapping techniques, of specific modified residues in reductively isopropylated proteins.
