Evaluation of the average heats of ionization ΔHi.) for oxidized and reduced horse heart cytochrome c reveals that the heats of ionization for both redox species as a function of pH are identical within the precision of the method. Since this result is obtained in spite of the differences in the numbers of groups titrated in the two forms of the protein, the redox forms must have the same heats of ionization per group titrated. When the heats of ionization are plotted as a function of the groups titrated, the differences are more clearly seen. For proteins with one or two imidazoyl ionizations between many carboxyl and ε-amino ionizations, there is no clearly indicated plateau and the heats of ionization of the imidazole groups of histidines cannot be obtained by this procedure. The analysis is, however, useful for eliminating heats of ionization which are abnormal since the shape of the calculated curves are at variance with the experimental data.

摘要:
The method of hydrogen enthalpimetry as previously applied to unsaturated and polyunsaturated lipids has employed an authentic sample of each lipid analyte for construction of the enthalpimetric calibration curve. This study shows that individual lipid standards are not necessary for several common naturally-occurring fatty acids, methyl esters and simple triglycerides, each of which can be expressed as equivalent mg of methyl oleate. Data are given for six lipids having from one to nine moles of double bonds per mole of analyte, i. e., from oleic acid to trilinolenin.

摘要:
Temperature profiling of MIKE spectra allows identification of protonated psilocin in the presence of other compounds with the same mass. The use of multiple ionizing methods to give ions (M+H)+, (M+ML4)+, and M is shown to assist in determining the molecular weights of new natural products. Structural information is obtained from the MIKE spectra. All these determinations can be made on the intact mushroom or its simple alcoholic extracts.

摘要:
A rapid, simple and sensitive method for the repetitive determination of amygdalin in human serum has been developed. The method is based on the β-gluco-sidase-catalyzed hydrolysis of amygdalin to glucose, which subsequently is oxidized in the presence of glucose-oxidase. The sample is injected into a continuously circulated reagent mixture and the oxygen depletion is monitored with a three-electrode amperometric system. Amygdalin in the range 0.02 to 2 mg/ml has been determined with relative errors and relative standard deviation of about 2%. The maximum determination rate is 700 injections/h. Recovery studies are also reported for amygdalin in serum calibration and controls.

摘要:
An isomeric pair of compounds is obtained from 4-car-boxyaldehydephenanthrene-5-carboxylic acid (1) by various methods routinely applied for the methylation of acidic oxygenation products of K-region polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH's) prior to GC and GC/MS analysis. Differentiation of the individual cyclic and acyclic isomers, a classical general problem, proves possible by careful analysis of the mass spectral fragmentation patterns in the representative case studied here.

摘要:
The application of a hydrogen- and ammonia-sensitive, palladium-coated semiconductor device (Pd-MOSFET) in enzymic analysis has been studied. The response of the device to NH3liberated both non-enzymically as well as by the enzymes urease from urea and creatinine deiminase from creatinine was investigated. In the latter case, a flow-cell was used and the analysis was continuous. The device described, a kind of enzyme-transistor, is of relatively simple design.

摘要:
A simple, sensitive and specific assay method was developed for the assay of sodium liothyronine (T3Na) from tablets. Sodium liothyrorn'ne was extracted from powdered tablets with a solvent system consisting of butanol and dilute hydrochloric acid. The solvent was removed under vacuum and the residue was dissolved in ammonical methanol. An aliquot of this solution was injected on a μBondapak C18column and the elution was carried out with a mobile phase consisting of methanol:water:phosphoric acid (55:45: 0.1). The effluent was monitored by U. V. detection at 254 nm. A linear calibration curve was obtained in the range of 10 to 250 ng on column with a precision of ±4% (C. V.). The internal standard consisted of 3, 3′, 5-triiodothyronine (T3′ or RT3). The usefulness of an alternate compound, 3, 5-diiodo-3′, 5′-dibromothyronine, which is not endogenous, was also demonstrated as an internal standard.

摘要:
Clozapin exhibits two anodic waves at ≥ 1 M H2SO4, but at lower acidities only the first two-electron wave remains. Cyclic voltammetry shows an ECE mechanism. Reversibility decreases at ≥ 10−4Mconcentrations, due to formation of an adsorptiob film. In nonaqueous solvents two irreversible one-electron waves appear. Clothiapin and loxapin are more difficultly oxidized and can be measured in the presence of clozapin.
