摘要:
A method is described for the spectrophotometric determination of manganese by means of its complex with 4(5)-imidazolealdoxime, IMALOX, formed in alkaline medium. The colour system has its absorption maximum at 350 nm and obeys Beer's law over the range 0.8–8.0 μg of Mn per ml. The optimum range is 1–5 μg m−1. The molar absorptivity is 7850 1 mol−1cm−1. Relatively few ions interfere, and these can be masked with cyanide, tartrate and NTA. The experimental results have been critically analyzed and a comparison with the main spectrophotometric reagents for manganese is presented.

摘要:
A complex between sodium nitroprusside (NP) and acetaldehyde of 1:1 in aqueous solution of pH 10 has been prepared and used as an analytical reagent for the spectrophotometric determination of sulphite and nitrite ions. Nitrite ion can be titrated against sulphite ion and vise versa in equivalent amounts with high accuracy in the presence of the acetaldehyde complex of nitroprusside as a carrier using a potentiometric titration technique.

Fluorescence properties of 2,2′-dihydroxy-3,3′-dicarboxy -1,1′-dinaphthylmethane (pamoic acid) and of its aluminium 1:1 complex are described. The fluorescence of the latter, as measured from a water-dioxane (3:7, v/v) solution, at pH 5.05–5.20, at room temperature, is used as a basis for a new method of aluminium determination at submicrogram level. Limit of quantification of the proposed procedure is 0.028 ng.ml−1, range of applicability goes up to 1.7 ug.ml−1, RSD is 1% at 0.47 ug.ml−1level (concentrations, given refer to HCl solution which is measured) Tolerance ratios for several interferent metal ions are given. A comparison is made with Kirkbright's method which uses 3-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid as complexing agent: stability with time of the readings and freedom from Fe(III) interference are the main advantages of the proposed procedure. The new method is applied to the aluminium determination in atmospheric aerosol samples.

摘要:
A separation and chemical analysis method has been developed of corrosion products forming on aluminum brass surfaces immersed in sodium sulfate solutions at pH= 7.25 (simulating river water) and in sea water at pH= 8.2. This method is based upon a selective solubilization of various oxidation compounds with the aid of proper solvents (i.e. dissolving the metal matrix only to a negligible extent).

摘要:
Bis-pyridinium aldoximes reactivate inhibited cholinesterases poisoned by organophosphorous insecticides; 4-carbamoy 1–2′-hydroximinomethyl-bis (1-pyridinomethyl) ether dichloride is presently being investigated as an antidote for this type of phosphate ester poisoning. Current chromatographic detection methods for this compound and its metabolites, at levels present in biological samples, lack both sensitivity and selectivity. The electrochemical properties of these compounds were studied in both aqueous and non-aqueous media in order to establish a suitable electrochemical detection strategy for use after separation by high pressure liquid chromatography.

摘要:
A flow-through sandwich potentiometric detector for FIA in which a PVC membrane sensor is applied on a conductive epoxy support is described. It allows simple replacement of the membrane when exhausted or substituition of the sensor system and shows good mechanical and electric stability. The device can be easily included in a block with a location for the reference electrode. The detector was activated with a commercial sensor selective to nitrate and its behaviour in FIA was studied. A comparison of its perfomance with that of a nitrate selective electrode of classic shape constructed by the same technique is presented.

摘要:
The polarographic behaviour of uranium(VI) in aqueous C. 1 N nitric acid medium, in the presence of some polyoxa macrocyclic ligands (15-crown-5, benzo-15-crown-5, 18-crown-6, dicyclohexyl-18-crown-6), at 25°C, was investigated. Both in the absence and in the presence of the polyoxa macrocyclic ligands, the reduction of hexavalent uranium in aqueous medium takes place in two steps, each of which involving the transfer of an electron. Under diffusion-controlled conditions, the two steps of the reduction in acid medium proceed reversibly. The results of the polarographic measurements enabled to estimate the ratio of the stability constants of the complex ions of U(111) and of U(IV) with macrocyclic polyethers.

摘要:
The influence of organic matter, calcium carbonate, flyash, saline and alkaline salts, inorganic fertilizers, surfactants and exchangeable ions on the mobility of five carbamoyl group containing pesticides has been studied using soil thin-layer chromatography. The variations in the Rf, RBand RMvalues of aldicarb, bavistin, carbofuran, dimecron and oxamyl under different treatments are reported and explained on the basis of adsorption and leachability.

The chelating adsorbents, heterocyclic azo dyes supported on silica gel, were prepared and their adsorption behaviors of metal ions were investigated. The 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol(PAN)-SG and 2-(2-thiazolylazo)-p-cresol(TAC)-SG show greater affinity for UO2(II) and ZrO(II), compared with the other metal ions like Cu, Cd, Fe and alkaline earths. Trace uranyl can be quantitatively retained on the column of the gels at neutral pH region and flow-rate 3–4 ml/min. The uranyl retained is easily eluted from the column bed with a mixture of acetone and nitric acid(9:1 v/v) and determined by spectrophotometry using Arsenazo-III. Matrix components in seawater do not interfere and the spiked recovery of uranyl in artificial seawater was found to be average 98.6 %, with the relative standard deviation of 1.08 %. Both gels were applied to the determination of uranium in seawater with satisfactory results.
