In vivo studies of urinary bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) levels in dogs and in non-uremic patients undergoing hemodialysis treatments for psoriasis were undertaken. Dogs were divided into 3 groups: Control, Sham-Operated, and Nephrectomized. Each dog received 225 mg DEHP per kilogram body weight via the femoral vein. Each of the non-uremic patients underwent hemodialysis therapy for 4–5 hours once a week for four consecutive weeks to treat their psoriatic condition. Specimens of 2 4 hr urine were collected and analyzed for DEHP by gas chromatography. The detection limit of DEHP in urine is 15 ng/ml. No detectable DEHP was found in the urine of all pre-injection specimens obtained from all three groups of dogs. The total urinary DEHP concentrations for the four day period were found to be 76.1 and 192.2 μg for the Control and the Sham-Operated dogs, respectively. No urine samples could be collected from the Nephrectomized dogs. DEHP levels were found in the 24 hr urine specimens from some of the non-uremic patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy. The DEHP concentrations ranged from non-detectable to 159.8 yg/24 hrs. Normal renal function seems to be necessary for the excretion of non-metabolized DEHP.

摘要:
A method for the analysis of tissue DEHP levels was developed. Tissue homogenates were extracted with a chloroformrmethanol solution, followed by the addition of 1 g baked alumina to clean up the heavy matrices of the tissues. DEHP levels in tne tissues were determined by gas chromatography. Percent recovery of DEHP from the tissues ranged between 72.2 and 83.3%.

摘要:
The significance to the routine laboratory of instability and inter-manufacturer variation of various standards previously demonstrated by HPLC analysis was investigated by chemical analysis. Urea, creatinine and uric acid standards from several manufacturers were studied. The causes and consequences of the demonstrated impurities, variations and instability of the standards are discussed.

An enzymatic method is described for the pH-stat determination of a series of alkaloids, vitamins, sulfonamides and anions based on the inhibitory effect on the cholinesterase-catalyzed hydrolysis of butyrylcholine iodide (BuCh). All analyses were done at 25.0°C and pH 8.00 Creadable reproducibility of ± 0.02 pH unit)- Sensitivity ranges from 13 ng (physostigmine) to 0.86 g (niacinamide). The precision is < 2.0% with the exception of physostigmine which is ≤ 5.2%. The average recovery and analysis times were (98.1–104.1)% and 10 min., respectively. Complete Inhibition curves are presented and the relative inhibitory “potency” of the compounds examined is inferred.

摘要:
N, N′-dimethylformamide was used as solvent with a high degree of polarity, ammonium acetate solution as supporting electrolyte, and gelatin solution as maxima suppressor, to determine polarographically anthraquinone, aminoanthraquinone, and naphthaquinone. After removing oxygen by bubbling the solution with an inert gas, the mentioned compounds were reduced at different polarization potentials, giving 3 reduction steps relative to the mercury dropping electrode.
