摘要:
Electrochemical reductions of iron(II) 4,4′,4″,4′″-tetrasulfophthalocyanine (Fe(II)TSP) in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) on a mercury electrode have been examined. The iron compound was found to undergo two one-electron reductions (at -0.74 and -1.15 V vs. SCE respectively) to Fe(0) as verified by polarographic measurements. The course of reduction was followed by observing the spectral change in a combined optical-electrochemical cell. The influence of such extraplanar ligands as cyanide, pyridine, and imidazole, etc., on the half-wave potentials were also noted.

摘要:
We have developed a rapid, sensitive and specific method for the quantitation of serum levels of two antidiabetic sulfonylureas, chlorpropamide (I) and tolbutamide (II). Thermally stable derivatives of I, II and the major products of metabolism of 11, hydroxytolbutamide and carboxytolbutamide, were prepared. Serum levels of I and II were determined following extraction of acidified serum with ethyl acetate, formation of N-methyl derivatives with diazomethane, and then formation of the N-methyl-N′-tri-fluoroacetyl derivatives with trifluoroacetic anhydride. The derivatized compounds were analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, and by GLC using flame ionization detection, and quantitated using the internal standard method.

摘要:
A survey of 14 substrates for the fluorometric determination of the oxidative enzyme-horseradish peroxidase was carried out. The compounds which seemed to act well as substrates are serotonin, guaiacol, o-cresol, p-cresol, m-cresol, homovanillic acid and m-tyrosine. L-Epinephrine, equilenin, equilin, β-estradiol, estriol, and estrone were studied and found not to be substrates of the system.

摘要:
A hydrogen-flushed hydride generation utilizing a 1 % solution of NaBH4as a reductant is wed with a non-heated quartz tube atomizer for selenium determination in feed and forage samples. A small amount of oxygen is added to the hydrogen to support combustion and atomization of the hydride. The sensitivity is 6 × 10−10g. with linear analytical curves and good accuracy. The relative standard deviation of the method is 5–8 %.

An empirical expression is described which predicts with a high degree of accuracy the difference in chemical shift, for the dimer contribution, between certain protons at infinite dilution in acetone and as a neat sample. The possible uses and importance of such an expression are discussed.

摘要:
A spectrophotometric study of the molybdenum-1-pyrrolidinecarbodithioate complex has shown that the meta1:ligand ratio is 1;2. Both molybdenum(VI) and molybdenum(V) form complexes with almost identical absorption spectra. The conditional extraction constant for the molybdenum(VI)-1-pyrrolidinecarbodithioate in chloroform system has been evaluated as 6.3 × 1016.

摘要:
A thermochemical technique for urea determination has been developed based on the measurement of heat production as a sample flows through an adiabatic column filled with urease immobilized on controlled porosity glass. While in the column, the urea in the sample is completely converted to products by the catalytic action of the urease and heat is stoichiometrically generated. This heat raises the effluent temperature which is monitored at the column exit using a 100K ω thermistor.
