摘要:
A gas-liquid chromatographic (GLC) method for the simultaneous determination of brotizolam (I) and its major hydroxymetabolite (1-hydroxymethylbrotizolam) (II) in human plasma is described here. After extraction at pH 13, acid washing, alkaline back extraction and derivatization with a double internal standardization, the analysis was performed on a WSCOT CPsil 5 capillary column, with detection by electron capture.

摘要:
The reduction of 1,2 naphthoquinone-4-sulfonic acid (NOSA) by hydralazine, 1-hydrazinophthalazine, to form the fluorescent product dihydroxynaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid is investigated. The optimum pH and reaction time are found to be 6.5 and 15 minutes, respectively. Linearity from 1 to 3.5 μgm/ml for the determination of hydralazine is established. Comparison of the results for the determination of hydralazine in various pharmaceutical tablets using the NQSA and the UV methods are given.

摘要:
A method for the rapid extraction and concentration of nicotine from human plasma is described. The samples are suitable for quantitative determination of nicotine by gas chromatography utilizing thermoionic detection. Accurate estimations of plasma nicotine were obtained for concentrations between 5 and 40 ng/mL. Environmental nicotine appears to limit reliable determinations below 5 ng/mL.

摘要:
An anion exchange-liquid scintillation procedure for detecting enriched uranium alpha emissions in urine is described. Uranium is removed from extraneous elements by anion exchange. The uranium is eluted from the column and extracted into a liquid scintillator before being counted in a photon-electron rejecting alpha liquid scintillation spectrometer. The average recovery was 92 percent at the 0.9 dpm level.

摘要:
The direct fluorometric assay of aryl hydrocarbon hydroxylase has been compared to the more commonly used indirect fluorometric and radiometric assays. Although rat hepatic microsomal activities measured by the direct assay were consistently higher than those obtained by the other assays, the relative changes in activity following enzyme induction and/or inhibition were similar. The direct assay provides an accurate and rapid measure of aryl hydrocarbon hydroxylase activity and avoids several problems inherent in the indirect and radiometric assays.

摘要:
Azo-dye methods for electrophoretical and spectrophotometrical determination of sulphatase activity is described. Sulphatase from Helix pomatia was used as the enzyme and α-naphthyl sulphate, naphthol AS-BI sulphate and 6-bromo-2-naphthyl sulphate served as substrates. The coloured reaction product was developed by coupling with Fast Blue salt. It is concluded that 6-bromo-2-naphthyl sulphate is suitable for both quantitative and qualitative measurements of steroid sulphatase activity while the two other substrates are much less active against this enzyme.

摘要:
The N-acetyl-L-methionine electrode is based on a coupled enzymatic system consisting of acylase and L-amino acid oxidase with an ammonia gas sensor; conditions of imobilization are optimized. N-acetyl-L-methionine in the range 4×10−5–2×10−3M gives a linear potential vs. log(concentration) plot with a response time of 2–5 min over the range specified. This electrode combined with an L-methionine electrode, based only on L-amino acid oxidase and an ammonia gas sensor, can be used for the determination of both substrates in mixtures, thus extending the feasibility of the method. Acylase (0.1–2.00) is determined in aqueous solutions by adding N-acetyl-L-methionine to the sample, and measuring the ammonia evolved with the gas-sensing electrode.
