摘要:
The utilization of a micro-HPLC technique was described for estimating the hydrophobic substituent parameter (π-value) needed in studying quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSAR). The estimated π-values by the micro-HPLC method are in good agreement with the calculated values.

摘要:
A Teflon-graphite ion-selective probe and an Ag/AgCl reference probe, each with integrated electronics, are reported. Measurements were successfully performed using a conventional inexpensive digital multi-meter. Calibration plots were obtained for copper, cadmium and lead respectively. For copper (activation with Cu2S) a comparison was performed of the Teflon-graphite probe prior to the introduction of the electronics and the Radiometer Ruzicka Selectrode®.

摘要:
Solid membranes of copper hexacyanoferrate (III) in Areldite are evaluated as thallium (I) sensitive electrode. The membrane electrode gave a linear near Normstian response to thallium (I) ions in the concentration range 10−1- 5 × 10−4M and can be used to estimate T1 (I) down to 10−4M. The responses of the electrode is fast and steady potentials are obtained in less than a minute. The same membrane has been used over a period of six months without any appreciable drift in potential. The electrode can also be used satisfactory in partially non-aqueous media and in presence of a number of interfering ions. It is superior to the existing T1(I) solid membrane electrodes as it can function in alkaline range also.

摘要:
The performance of a new kind of semi-stationary mercury electrode (i.e., LLSDME) is compared to that of some commercially available Kemula electrodes (Metrohm and Tacussel HMDE) in the direct determination of metals at trace and subtrace levels by DPASV technique. The results obtained in the stripping analysis of a pure electrolyte solution as well as of sea-water samples, show that a LLSDME offers better reproducibility, better sensitivity and hence lower detection limit (down to 50 ng/1), Moreover, using HMDE with Silicone-coated capillaries (necessary for a HMDE when testing a solution containing surface-active substances) still poorer sensitivity and reproducibility were obtained.
