摘要:
The performance characteristics of a copper (II) ion-selective electrode, based on pressed-pellet membrane of ternary CuAgSe, are reported. The sensing material is isostructural with the natural mineralβ-eucairite and shows high corrosion resistivity which results in stable and reproducible electrode performance upon ageing. The electrodes exhibit a linear Nernstian response dawn to 5.10−8M in non buffered medium and down to 10−13M in copper-glycine ion buffer. Data on the electrode stability for a period of two and a half years, on the electrode response time, pH-dependence, selectivity etc. are also presented.

摘要:
In the course of working with geothermal-geopressured brines we have developed a slight modification to the general procedure for the use of gas sensing ion selective electrodes which reduces the time between successive samples to about 10 minutes, as well as improving the precision and in the case of the ammonia electrode an improvement in the lower detection limit (to 0.1 ppm) was obtained. We have found that the modified procedure works equally well for both the Orion ammonia (Model 95–10) and the Orion carbon dioxide (Model 95–02) electrodes.

A static dilution bottle was designed to prepare multi-component volatile organic standards. Different concentrations of these standards may be obtained by using different sized bottles, by adjusting the component amounts introduced into the bottle, or by varying the amount of vapor removed by gas-tight syringes for injection into an analytical instrument or into a solid adsorbent sample collection cartridge.

A device capable of collecting simultaneously eight equivalent particulate diesel exhaust samples was constructed to test the effect of filter type, extraction solvent and storage condition on the measured concentration of five PAH compounds (fluoranthene-Ft, pyrene-Py, benz(a)anthracene-BaA, benzo(k)fluoranthene-BkFT, and benzo(a)pyrene-BaP) in diesel exhaust. An experimental design was used to most efficiently test the variables. A linear model (GLM) was used to analyze the data.

摘要:
The increment method under least squares has been applied to the spectrophotometric determination of p-hydroxybenzoic acid complexed with polyvinylpyrrolidone in water. The mean percentage recovery for six prepared mixtures was found to be 99.49 + 1.25. When the Amaxmethod has been applied, the mean percentage recovery was found to be 90.99+5.59. The theoretical bases of the method have been discussed.

摘要:
The effects of micelles on the fluorescence detection of phenolic compounds are described. Micelles were found to enhance the fluorescence of the drugs apomorphine (APO), and N-n-propylnorapomorphine (NPA), and a series of model hydroxybiphenyls. The fluorescence enhancements were pH dependent and biphasic behavior in hexadecyltrimethylamnonium chloride was observed for APO and NPA. Multiple equilibria and formation of zwitterions of the phenolic aporphines in the micellar environment is proposed to explain this behavior. Micellar fluorescent enhancements should be useful in improving the sensitivity of fluorometric determinations of polar compounds.

摘要:
Three aluminas were investigated with five eluents containing various amounts of water. The first water layer adsorption can be described by the Freundlich's model whilst adsorption of the following water layers can be interpreted with the Brunauer, Emmet and Teller model. Energetic identity of the three aluminas was proved and eight active sites per nm2were evidenced. Retention of solutes was interpreted with a logarithmic model in which the capacity factor logarithm varies linearly with the eluent water content logarithm.
