摘要:
Traces of Pb, Cd, Cu, Ni, and Zn can be assayed by differential pulse polarography in presence of high levels of magnesium. Pb and Cd are determined in 0.5 MHCL and Cu, Ni, and Zn in 1.0 M NH3/NH4Cl at pH 10.0. Linear calibration plots are obtained for each group of species. The method has been applied to the determination of Pb, Cu, Ni, and Zn in analytical reagent grade magnesium compounds. The method was also applied to the determination of Pb and Cd in analytical reagent grade zinc powder. The precision and accuracy of the method are compared with those of atomic absorption spectrophotometry.

摘要:
Cyclopentane-1,3-dione bis (4-methylthiosemicarbazone) monohydrochloride produces coloured solutions with bromate ions in perchloric acid medium. The yellow colour obtained (molar absorptivity 1.8×1041.mol−1.cm−1at a wavelength of 400 mm) has been used for the spectrophotometric determination of trace amounts of bromate.

Spectrometric studies on the complexation of Zr(IV) with five new pyrazolonic derivatives were carried out. The influence of ortho-substituted groups on the operational parameters of the spectrometric method of determining Zr(IV) was investigated. 摘要:
Performance characteristics of electrochemical detectors for high performance liquid chromatooraphy are difficult to predict from presently avaliable information relating response to design parameters. A fiqure of merit is proposed which allows an operational comparison to be made, based upon specific response, noise and band spread. On this basis, it is shown that a meaningful comparison of an amperometric design with a coulometric design can be obtained and that, contrary to previous predictions, this coulometric type is generally superior.

摘要:
A technique is described for the concentration of lead from fresh and saline waters before analysis by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The lead is adsorbed on managanese dioxide supported on glass fibre filters. Quantitative adsorption of up to 75 mg Pb/g MnO2was achieved, with a maximum adsorption of 190 mg Pb g−1. The technique, which allows rapid processing of large samples, is suited to field use.

摘要:
A nondestructive analysis for chemical reactivity of commercial whetlerite (activated charcoal impregnated with copper, chromium and silver) is described. It is based on monitoring the disappearance of carbon monoxide in mixtures with air from known flows passing through the charcoal in a flow-through mode. Correlation of CO oxidation was found with measurements of cyanogen chloride retention using the same samples. the disappearance of carbon monoxide was also followed using a recycle procedure. However, the results using this particular method for CO oxidation may not lead to a good correlation with cyanogen chloride retention.
