摘要:
The determination of reducing sugars is shown to be possible by use of potentiometric detection with a metallic copper indicator electrode by either flow-injection analysis (FIA) or high-performance liquid chromatography. Various sugars including arabinose, maltose, sorbose, glucose, fructose, sucrose, lactose and xylose, give an electrode response when injected into different carrier streams composed of cupric ions in weakly complexing ligand solutions comprised of either ammonia or tartrate. Optimization of response depends on flow-rate, temperature, pH, and concentrations of carrier components. Chromatography using a cation-exchange column and post-column addition of carrier reagents similar to those used for FIA is demonstrated to give detectable separation of four sugar components with umole injection quantities.

摘要:
The combination of the automated sample handling capabilities of flow injection analysis combined with detection by attenuated total reflection infrared spectroscopy is presented. This automated system is used to quantitate aliphatic esters, such as dioctylsulfosuccinate, in aqueous solutions at the mg levels. Fairly high reproducibility, 1 to 5%, at a rate of at least 25 samples per hour is possible.

A potentiometric flow system based on a sparingly soluble mixture of aluminum laurate and lauric acid as the responsive element and a glass electrode as the primary sensor is reported. Effects of pH adjustment, responses to possible interferent species and the response of the analogous barium sensor to aluminium are also presented.

An oxidimetric titrant, 18-Crown-6-potassium ferricyanide complex, has been prepared in acetonitrile. This reagent is proposed for redox titrations in aqueous - acetonitrile media of some reductant compounds. The general analytical conditions for using this complex and the procedures for potentiometric determinations of oxalate, arsenic (III), thiocyanate, nitrite, sulfite, thiosulphate and iodide ions, as well as hydrazine sulphate and hydrogen peroxide are presented.

摘要:
A prototype method is described which automatically analyzes exponential decay curves by using nonlinear regression analysis and deviation pattern recognition. Lifetimes and preexponential factors are computed for the proper model. The program successfully classified simulated data consisting of one, two, or three exponentials when noise followed a Poisson distribution. However, for real luminescence decay data, systematic instrumental noise of higher frequency tended to obscure low frequency deviations from incorrect models in smoothed deviation plots. This factor complicated classification of multi-exponential data, although the program easily distinguished between single and multiple exponential behavior.

摘要:
A highly sensitive and selective spot test method has been developed for iron(III) and molybdenum(VI) with a limit of detection 0.01 μg per 0.02 ml and 0.001 μg per 0.02 ml for Fe(III) and Mo(VI) respectively on the beads of antimony(V) silicate cation exchanger. The method utilizes the adsorption ion-exchange properties of antimony(V) silicate and the complex forming ability of sodium diethyldithiocarbamate.

The composition, stability constant and molar absorption coefficient of the chelate of scandium ion with Semi-Xylenol Orange (SXO) are determined speotrophotometrically in a medium of chloroacetate buffer. In the scandium-Semi-Xylenol Orange system, Sc(SXO) chelate is formed with a logarithmic stability constant of 19.66 and molar absorptivity of 2.4x104(530 nm) 1 mole−1cm−1.
