摘要:
The emphasis of this paper is upon man and machine engaged in interaction where ‘man’ is the occasional user and ‘machine’ is a terminal. It is argued that it is essential to shift the emphasis from an over pre‐occupation with programming languages and program development techniques to the design of a good interface for the occasional user. The aim of this paper is to encourage all users to make sure that the computer professionals provide an optimum interface for the casual user by the development of appropriate standards and by the full exploitation of the equipment available.

摘要:
This paper traces the development over a period of some five years of computing in an undergraduate course in architecture. In the early days there was little experience in the profession generally of how the computer could be used to aid architectural design and education and none at all in this Department. The school now has its own small computer with interactive graphics facilities and is carrying out a wide range of research and development activities. The general strategy is described together with several particular techniques and the educational benefits already apparent and anticipated.
