AbstractDer Verlauf von stationären und instationären Stromdichte‐Potential‐Kurven des Stahles X 5 CrNi 189 in 35%iger MgCl2‐ Lösung bei 120° C ist nahezu identisch. Interessant für SpRK‐Experimente ist vor allem ein schmaler Potentialbereich vor dem Überschreiten des Durchbruchpotentials für Lochfraß. Bei Spannungsrißkorrosionsversuchen wurden zwei Belastungsfälle realisiert:(a)Belastung der Zugproben im Elektrolyten(b)Belastung der Zugproben an Luft bei Versuchstemperatur, anschließendes Übergangskriechen und erst dann das SpRK‐Experiment.Eine Abnahme der SpRK‐Empfindlichkeit bei Versuch b, die gemäß dem „slip‐dissolution”︁‐Modell zu erwarten gewesen wäre, konnte nicht festgestellt werden. Entsprechend zeigen die Messungen zur Potentialabhängigkeit und zur Spannungsabhängigkeit der Standzeit bei beiden Versuchsführungen nur Unterschiede im Rahmen der Meßungenauigkeit.Eine potentialabhängige untere Grenzspannung für SpRK existiert nur dann, wenn kein Lochfraß auftritt; dann liegt diese im Bereich der Streckgrenze. AbstractDurch Anwendung der Ellipsometrie wurde die Dicke des Oxidfilmes, der sich auf der Oberfläche von unlegiertem Stahl St‐38 an trockener Luft bildet, mit hinreichender Genauigkeit gemessen. Sie beträgt 3,5 bis 4,5 nm. Außerdem konnte gezeigt werden, daß die Dicke dieses Primäroxides mit Zunahme der relativen Luftfeuchtigkeit (RL) zunimmt. Dabei konnte jedoch für jeden definierten Wert von (RL) eine neue stationäre Dicke dieses Oxidfilmes nachgewiesen werden, die von der Rauhigkeit der Substratoberfläche abhängt. Die ellipsometrischen Messsungen ergaben auch, daß Wasser auf dem Oxidfilm während der Exposition in feuchter Luft adsorbiert wird. Diese Adsorption hängt von der Dicke und Zusammensetzung der O

AbstractThe influence of a short‐time prefilming treatment with benzimidazole‐2‐thiol on the corrosion resistance of Cu Zn 22Al 2 has been examined.The efficiency of the prefilming treatment has been evaluated by recording the anodic and the cathodic polarization curves in 0.1 N NaCl.Ellipsometric measurements have been carried out in order to obtain some information on the properties of the layer.Comparative data on “prefilmed” and “bare” Cu Zn 22Al2 specimens have been obtained in aqueous chloride solutions circulating in a corrosion loop and by tests in moist atmosphere containing SO2.Galvanic corrosion testing have been carried out by using small not prefilmed areas and large prefilmed ones, simulating in this way the partial removal of the film from the metallic surface.The results suggest that a metal‐inhibitor film forms on Al‐brass, which mainly affects the cathodic reaction rate.Furthermore, the tests clearly indicate that the effect of benzimidazole‐2‐thiol is strongly influenced by a pre‐existing oxide layer on the alloy surface.A good protection against atmospheric corrosion is reached by prefilming treatment.Corrosion loop testing indicate that prefilming does not hinder the formation of protective corrosion products on the surface of the alloy in fl
