AbstractAn introduction is given to research on dense (or nonideal) plasmas which can be generated to advantage by ballistic compressors. Some properties of ballistic compressors are discussed especially in comparison with shock tubes. A short review is given on the history of these devices for high‐pressure plasma generation. AbstractA simple model of the penetration of particle effluxes from the core plasma into the SOL‐plasma of tokamaks is proposed. The assumptions made are free streaming of particles parallel to the magnetic field and anomalous particle transport perpendicular to the toroidal field with a constant radial velocity. The model has been proved for measured particle fluxes of Li which was injected into the core plasma of the tokamak T‐10. 摘要:
AbstractIn a previous paper the results of the Langmuir probe experiment carried out on board of two INTERKOSMOS satellites have been described. The experiences have shown that the usage of high quality algorithms for analyzing the current‐voltage‐characteristics is necessary to yield real physical parameters.The key problem is the determination of the plasma potential. This paper reviews the different methods to determine the plasma potential especially under the circumstances of computer application. The test of the well developed methods shows, that for the evaluation of the applied methods a number of different factors, discussed in the following sections of this paper, has to be taken into account. The used test data are model values or real measurements obtained by the satellite missions IK‐10, IK‐18 and BULGARIA‐1300.The computer procedures have been realized as FORTRAN‐subroutines for the BESM 6

AbstractTotal collisional depopulation rates for He(n1S0) (3 ≦n≦ 6), He(31P1) in thermal collisions with Rb have been measured using the transient‐decay method. AbstractOn the basis of the Green's function formalism multiple scattering effects due to two‐particle scattering are investigated with respect to their influence on the electrical conductivity of dense, non‐ideal hydrogen plasmas. Both the linear response formalism and the rigorous kinetic treatment via the Kadanoff‐Baym equation yield equivalent results for this case. A local lowering of the conductance isotherms for is found to be a consequence of the disappearence of the last bound state of the shielded electron‐proton complex. Influences due to lowest order dynamical shielding effects are found to cause considerable lowering of the conductivity in this region due to photon polarization. AbstractThe variation of megagauss magnetic field in two dimensions for a cylindrical target plasma produced by lasers irradiation on the surface of a cylindrical wire has been solved analytically making use of Hankel and Fourier transforms. The results have been compared with the experiments of RAVENet al. (1978).

AbstractA theoretical study of the variation of density and flow velocity due to pondermotive force, near critical density region of a laser – produced plasma, obeying an adiabatic pressure law is reported. The ion‐continuity, momentum and wave equations are solved in a steady state. The density and flow velocity as a function of incident laser intensity are calculated and plotted for both underdense and overdense regions for adiabatic exponent γ = 4/3, 5/3, 2. The velocity decreases and density increases in the overdense region and velocity increase and density decreases in the underdense region with the increase of larger power at sonic point.
