摘要:
AbstractThe paper presents the results of the experimental investigation of the beam plasma discharge spatial structure in crossed fields induced by adding a high ionization potential gas to the discharge. Direct experimental evidence of the polarization mechanism of the radial current in a device with this type of discharge has been obtained.

摘要:
AbstractThe present paper considers the plasma‐beam instability of a space limited electron beam in a strong magnetic field (ωH≫ ωo). The form of the beam was taken to be both cylindrical and plane. The threshold of the non‐linear regime turned out to be weakly dependent on the beam form and independent of the magnetic field intensity. It is defined by the current and the directed velocity of the beam pa

摘要:
AbstractThe possibility of the existence of plasma oscillations in nonideal plasma and their role in effective “collision” frequency are analyzed. The simple formula for the electrical conductivity of nonideal plasma is obtained on the base of model considerations. An account is taken of a new scattering mechanism, namely, the collective plasma oscillati

摘要:
AbstractThe dynamic instability in a horizontal layer of a rotaing compressible plasma of variable density has been investigated to examine the influence of the simultaneous presence of the effects of Hall currents and finite magnetic resistivity. The linearized stability analysis has been carried out through the normal mode technique. By making use of the existence of a variational principle which is shown to characterize the problem, proper solutions have been obtained for a semiinfinite plasma in which there is an exponential density gradient along the vertical. The dispersion relation obtained has been solved numerically and it is found that both the resistivity and the Hall currents have a destabilizing influence as the growth rate of the unstable disturbances increases with increasing values of the parameters characterizing these effects. On the other hand, the Coriolis forces are found to have a stabilizing influence for in this case the growth rate decreases with increasing rotation.

摘要:
AbstractCoefficients of power reflection (R), transmission (T) and absorption (A) for a homogeneous, magnetised, collisional and moving plasma slab are derived and discussed by takingp‐polarized wave as the e.m. source wave and without imposing any restriction on the slab velocity. Effects of electron‐neutral collisions (νen), ion‐neutral collisions (νin) and the external magnetic field are included through momentum transfer equations. Plasma slab velocity (β = ν/c), electron ion densities (ωpe,i/ω) and the collision frequencies (νen,in) are found to cause significant change in the values ofR, TandA, a numerical study of which is illustrated

摘要:
AbstractThe problem of stability of a self‐gravitating, infinite homogeneous gas in the presence of suspended particles is investigated. The medium is assumed conducting and effect of external magnetic field, Hall current and finite Larmor radius corrections are also considered. The equations of the problem are linearized and from linearized equations a general dispersion relation for a dusty gas‐particle medium is obtained. The dispersion relation is reduced for two special cases of wave propagations: Parallel and perpendicular to the direction of uniform magnetic field. The effect of suspended particles on the medium is investigated in both the cases. It is found that in the presence of finite Larmor radius corrections and suspended particles the condition of instability is determined by Jeans's criterion for a self gravitating finitely conducting magnetised Hall med

摘要:
AbstractA MHD, symmetrical, nonpotential waves in nonuniform, cylindrical nonisothermal plasma waveguide placed in a finite external magnetic fieldH0directed along the axis of the waveguide are considered. The thermal velocity of the electrons νTe= (kTe/me)1/2(k— Boltzman's constant,Te— temperature,me— mass of the electron) is not neglected. As a consequence we obtain one more solution in the plasma region and respectively an equation of third power on χ2— the transverse wave number. As far as we know only equations of second power on χ2describing non‐potential waves are investigated. The dispersion equations are written solving the boundary‐value problem. Our results coincide with well known ones when the electron thermal velocity

摘要:
AbstractFor a typical laser gas discharge, the concentration and temperature of the most important plasma components at the end of the current pulse are calculated on the basis of given data for the tube radius, gas pressure, and energy input. Relating to a postdischarge time up to 1 s, the deionization, the association of the nitrogen atoms, the deexcitation of metastable molecules and the relaxation of the vibration temperature are investigated by means of simple balance equations. Finally the influence of plasma relicts on the following discharge pulse is discussed.

摘要:
AbstractThe experimental research on the correlation between the discharge parameters (electrode geometry, gas pressure, discharge voltage and current, magnetic field) of a cylindrical cathode discharge in magnetic field is presented.V‐I, I‐pundI‐Bdischarge characteristics are determined under various constructive and operating conditions. Invariant groups of discharge parameters for the discharges in the absence of the magnetic field are obtained. Experimental results are accounted for by a discharge mechanism wherein an important role is played by oscillating primary elec

摘要:
AbstractThe experimental determination of the main plasma parameters (i.e. plasma potential, plasma density, electron temperature, intensity of plasma radiation) in the negative glow of a cylindrical cathode discharge in magnetic field is presented. The influence of electrode configuration, gas pressure, discharge current and magnetic field on plasma parameters and their radial distribution is analysed.
