AbstractMit hoher Zeitauflösung wurden Gleichspannungsdurchschläge mit bogenformierten Elektroden in einem dampffreien Vakuum untersucht. Die Durchschläge begannen stets mit einer Katodenfackel, deren Zündspannung stark mit der im Vordurchschlagsgebiet fließenden Feldemission korreliert war. Die zeitliche Entwicklung des Plasmas im Elektrodenzwischenraum, des Entladungsstromes und der Entladungsspannung während der Durchschläge konnten durch die Modelle der Explosivemission und des raumladungsbegrenzten Diodenstromes zufriedenstellend erklärt werden. Mit Elektrodenabständen bis 6 mm und Spannungen bis 120 kV konnte kein Mechanismuswechsel gefunden werden. Im allgemeinen wurde der Widerstand des Entladungskanals klein genug, um das Bogenstadium einzuleiten. Jedoch wurde auch in einigen Fällen eine Selbstbegrenzung der Entladung gefunden, die auf unzureichende Materialnachlieferung von der Katode zurückzuführen ist. AbstractTracks of unipolar arcs found on parts of the T‐10 tokamak (shield and pipe section of the surface analysis station WASA, edge of the movable limiter) are analyzed.It is the aim of this paper to explain the observed deviations of the arc motion from the first order retrograde direction. It is shown that the drift of the arc which occurs if the magnetic field is inclined to the cathode surface, and which was studied in detail by Robson [1], causes the deviations. To this end, arc tracks on three differently shaped electrodes (cone, cylinder, sphere) are calculated theoretically and compared with the data from T‐10. Good agreement is obtained if the drift angle is approximately equal to one half of the inclination angle of the magnetic field. AbstractAn der Grenzfläche nichtisothermes reaktives Molekülgasplasma – Feststoff bilden sich ätzgasspezifische funktionelle Gruppen durch Anlagerung von Plasmaspezies als Vorstufe für Abbauvorgänge (chemische Abbaureaktionen und Sputterprozesse) oder für die Bildung von (Polymer‐) Schichten. Die z. B. bei verschiedenen Polymeren beobachteten langsam fortschreitenden Veränderungen der Struktur in oberflächennahen Schichten, bis etwa max. 100 μm, werden durch die energiereiche Plasma‐Vakuum‐UV‐Strahlung hervorgerufen. Die Bildung funktioneller Gruppen an der Feststoffoberfläche vollzieht sich sehr rasch. Daran schließt sich eine Periode der langsamen Penetration von Plasmaspezies in die obersten Feststoffschichten an (nm‐Bereich). AbstractAn extensive system of equations is derived to determine the growth rate of thin polymer films induced by an anisothermic plasma taking into account activation reactions as well as transport processes in the plasma volume and surface reactions. A survey of the literature on the quantitative treatment of plasma polymerization is given.

AbstractAn experimental electron swarm method with a special electron capture detector arrangement (ECD) is described which allows one to modify the energy of low energetic electrons from thermal to 2.8 eV by means of radio‐frequency voltage. Using theoretically calculated values of electron energy distribution functions in nitrogen and argon the attachment coefficients and the formation rates of negative ions for chlorobenzene, benzyl chloride, chloroform, methylene chloride, nitrobenzene, propyl iodide, trichloroethylene and carbon disulfide were determined in dependence on the mean electron energy.
