摘要:
AbstractThe hysteresis transitions between two temperature states of a collisional magnetoplasa due to Joule heating near by the electron gyroresonance are analysed. The propagation of intense extra‐ordinary gyroresonant microwave across the magnetic field in a plasma is responsible for such jump‐like thermic effects, the wave amplitudes being less than the “characteristic plasma field”. The transversal heat conductivity may lead to formation of spatially periodical temperature profiles in the hysteresis region of wave's intensity; the spatial periods of such profiles are much less than the Joule dissipation length of heating wave. The thermodiffusion, stimulated by temperature lamination, may form the spatial oscillations of magneto‐plasma density across the magne

摘要:
AbstractIn the framework of the linear response theory a quantumstatistical expression for the conductivity of nonideal plasmas is derived. In a simple approximation the influence of electron‐ion scattering and that of masses of equal magnitude on the conductivity is discussed; the latter is expressed in terms of transport collision frequencie

摘要:
AbstractBy simultaneously solving the Boltzmann equation and the current balance for the electrons the energy distribution function, the electron concentration and resulting macroscopic electron quantities were calculated for the ArHg mixture plasma under conditions typical of fluorescent lamps. Besides the usual external parameters of such diffusion determined discharge plasmas measured values of the electric field strength were employed. The investigations were performed for independent variation of the partial pressures of Ar and Hg as well as of the discharge current in wide ranges of practical interest. The results obtained are discussed and compared with various energy distributions employed up to now and measured values of the electron concentration and temperature as well as with experimental results on the energy budget of this mixture plasma available in the literatur

摘要:
AbstractA model reaction system is considered consisting of a heat bath of argon atoms (c) and small concentrations of SF6‐molecules (m) and electrons (e) (number densities:ne≪nm≪nc). Within the model the time behaviour of the electron velocity distribution function is studied under the influence of elastic electron‐argon collisions and electron SF6attachment collisions. On the basis of the distribution function time‐dependent macroscopic quantities (kinetic electron temperature. nonequilibrium rate constant of the attachment reaction) are c

摘要:
AbstractThe sets of differential equations usually used for the description of the low pressure discharges are underconstrained if several species of atoms and of ions and stepwise processes are taken into consideration. Using the equations of continuity, of momentum transfer, and of energy transfer for each species it is shown that, besides known closing statements for these sets of differential equations, additional conditions are necessary. It is found that the following relatively simple condition is sufficient for positive ions. The radial pressure gradient has to be assumed to vanish at least with the third order as the distance from the axis approaches zero. Various simpler and also more accurate and cumbersome approximations describing non‐excited atoms, positive and negative ions are investigated. Under some conditions one can formulate additional boundary conditions at the wall instead of additional conditions on the axi

摘要:
AbstractThe experimental measurements of the propagation properties of self‐exicted ion acoustic waves in a de‐low pressure column are compared with a one dimensional dispersion theory. The corresponding dispersion relation is developed starting from the linearised Vlasov equation with a Davydov‐type collision term. It is shown, that the mean features of the propagation behaviour of the ion acoustic waves can be explained by the theory. The experimental results concerning the dependence of the upper limit frequency of the waves upon the discharge current should be analysed on the base of new results from plasma diagnostics, taking also into account nonlinear and geometrical ef

摘要:
AbstractThe physics of vacuum arc cathodes, the advances in their interpretation and the still unsolved problems are summarized. Starting from the experimental experiences the theories of stationary arc spots are described, with their assumptions and variants, their successes and deficiencies. It is shown that an extension of these models by inclusion of non‐stationary processes is inevitable. Such processes are suggested and their importance in a theory of the dynamic arc spot is investigated. Finally the role of surfacecontaminations is discussed, and the general applicability of the vacuum arc models to all kinds of arc electrodes is emphasize
