摘要:
This study reports the quantitative and qualitative aspects of sports injuries in a 5‐day youth soccer tournament with 12,907 players. A total of 132 injuries that resulted in at least one days' absence from soccer playing were of special interest. The overall injury rate was 3.6 for boys and 4.4 injuries per 1000 hours of play for girls. Statistically significantly higher injury rates between players in puberty and differences in type and location of injuries between boys and girls were found. In 77% of the cases, the injury happened while the injured player was in physical contact with another player, 59% had ball contact and 7% had no contact with any person or ball at all. Five months later a questionnaire was send out to the serious injured players. Of 85 injured players, 10 were absent from school or work on average 11.5 days. Five had surgery. Injury prophylaxis in soccer tournaments is propose

摘要:
In a retrospective study, the consequences of arthroscopic meniscal resection in athletes with stable knees were analyzed. We found that 36% had been obliged to reduce or quit their sport activity 8.6 years after surgery. The risk factors associated with reduced sport ability were meniscal lesions other than the bucket‐handle type, high age and involvement in ball games. Competitive athletes were not more at risk than recreational athletes. Forty‐nine percent had at least one sign of arthrosis in the operated knee. More than one sign of Fairbank's degenerative changes were associated with reduced sports performa

摘要:
The purposes of this investigation were to assess selected mood state responses to a single session of both aerobic exercise and a quiet rest condition in bulimic women and to determine their physical activity and fitness levels. Nine outpatients who met DSM‐III‐R criteria for bulimia nervosa and 9 age‐, weight and gender‐matched non‐bulimic controls were studied. Self‐reports of physical activity and objective measures of physical fitness, including V̇o2peak, maximal treadmill time, and resting heart rate, were obtained. Bulimics had an above‐average level of physical fitness (V̇o2peak = 46.5 ± 9.3 ml·kg−1·min−1) that did not differ significantly from the controls. Subjects completed 2 randomly assigned, counterbalanced sessions involving 20 min of submaximal walking at 70% of peak V̇o2and on a separate day sitting quietly for 20 min. Fifteen minutes before and 10 and 20 min following both conditions, heart rate, blood pressure and mood state were measured. The bulimics exhibited significant reductions in anxiety, depression and systolic blood pressure following both the submaximal exercise and quiet rest conditions. The bulimic women experienced improvements in mood in association with vigorous walking exercise that were equal in magnitude to those occurring with quiet rest and had levels of physical fitness that were above average, but clearly did not engage in excessive exercise. The findings suggest that both acute exercise and quiet rest have transient psychological ben
