摘要:
The formation of propylene oxide actually occurred in the homogeneous bromide aqueous solutions for the anodic oxidation of propylene. It was found that the selectivity was very high and the current yield was mainly affected by the pH values and the spaces between the electrodes. The effect of pH values on the distributions of different types of ions in the solution was also described.

摘要:
After a decade of rapid development of an indigenous petrochemicals industry Mexico still relies on imported petrochemicals. To promote further participation of the private sector the Mexican government subsidizes the purchase of energy and basic raw materials. We analyze the impact of such a development policy on the growth of a balanced chemical industry, on the reduction of the dependence on imported chemicals, and on the technology selection by the industry. We then analyze the effect of insufficient investment capital and the possibility of entering the world markets for the sale of surplus petrochemicals.

摘要:
An approximate analysis based upon the matching of boundary layer solutions for the hot and cold walls through an approximate core temperature, is presented for the free convective heat transfer in an enclosure of complex geometry filled with either a Newtonian fluid or a saturated porous medium. The method has been applied to obtain the heat transfer rates for a vertical porous annulus, and is observed to make reasonably accurate predictions regarding the effects of the governing parameters.

摘要:
An important class of reactors found in the solution mining, geothermal, and petroleum industries are porous dissolution reactors. These reactors are analogous to chromatographic reactors except that parts of the porous media are dissolved by the reacting fluid flowing through it. Single and multiple reaction fronts can develop in the porous media. Models have been developed which successfully predict the shape and movement of these fronts and the distance between multiple fronts.

摘要:
The surface renewal model of wall turbulence is coupled with the classical eddy diffusivity/mixing length approach for the turbulent core to analyze turbulent variable property gas flows with moderate heating and cooling. The analysis indicates that the mean frequency of wall turbulence is decreased by heating and increased by cooling, with the heating effect being significantly greater than the cooling effect. The analysis also gives rise to mean velocity and temperature distributions, friction factors and Stanton numbers that are consistent with most of the experimental data for both heating and cooling.

摘要:
Free and forced convective heat transfer rates from circular cylinders whose length to diameter ratio is small have been experimentally measured. The cylinders were arranged with their axes in a vertical plane and tests were conducted with the axes set at angles of between 0° and 90° to the horizontal. In the forced convective tests the cylinders were exposed to a horizontal air stream. The majority of the tests were undertaken with models having diameters of 19 mm and 25 mm with length to diameter ratios of between 1.5 and 16. The heat transfer rates were determined by the transient method i.e. by using solid aluminum models, heating them and measuring their temperature-time variation while they cooled. Significant differences between the present results and those observed in previous studies with models having large length to diameter ratio have been found. Methods of correlating both the free convective results and the forced convective results have been derived.

摘要:
The work of Takahashi and Gill (1980) on the transient convective mass transfer in three dimensional rectangular channels in the presence of a transverse field is extended to include the time dependence of the convection and dispersion coefficients. The methodology of generalized dispersion theory is used to predict the breakthrough curves. The functions,f0andf1, are determined by introducing a two-dimensional Sturm—Liouville operator.
