&NA;The use of prostaglandin E2(PGE2) for the termination of pregnancy is quite common and generally is considered safe. Among the complications reported are uterine rupture and dramatic pyrexic and cardiovascular response (6). A case is reported in which a woman with an ectopic pregnancy that had not been noted at ultrasonography was admitted for abortion with PGE2with fatal outcome. At autopsy an insignificant uterine rupture was noted in addition to the main findings.

&NA;Malignant hyperthermia is an often lethal hypermetabolic crisis state precipitated by a variety of pharmacological and environmental triggers in genetically susceptible persons. The present report documents, by medical history and necropsy, a fatal malignant hyperthermic crisis in a 20‐year‐old man after an evening of recreational cocaine and ethanol abuse.

&NA;Most blunt force injuries produced by guns are associated with gun butts, and patterned, muzzle/sight impressions are usually produced by discharging firearms. An unusual and distinct forehead laceration produced by a blow with the muzzle end of a .32 caliber revolver is presented.

&NA;A singular case of masturbation by endourethral introduction of a piece of spaghetti is reported. We became aware of the case because fragmentation of the spaghetti caused a cicatricial stenosis of the urethra that required surgical treatment.

&NA;A case is presented involving a patient who underwent an intrapericardial pneumonectomy for lung cancer and died of cerebral hypoxia due to herniation of the heart. The etiology and pathophysiology of cardiac herniation are reviewed.

&NA;Sudden death caused by foreign‐body perforation of the esophagus is distinctly uncommon. We report the death of an elderly patient in a nursing home who exsanguinated after she swallowed a chicken bone that perforated her esophagus and right common carotid artery.
