摘要:
A population of the aquatic megadrile genusAlmainhabiting irrigation ditches adjacent to the Nile at Abu Rawwash, near Cairo, is shown to be conspecific withAlma stuhlmanni(Michaelsen). Only the branchiate species,A. niloticahas previously been recorded from Egypt. Morphological descriptions ofA. stuhlmanniandA. niloticaare given together with their distributions. Two specimens ofA. niloticafrom Shimbat constitute the first record of the genus from the Sudan. The form of the genital setae inA. niloticaand in the East AfricanA. eminiappears to invalidate sub-division of the genus by Michaelsen (1915) into four species-groups.

摘要:
Two members of the family Chondracanthidae (Copepoda) are described from Australian fishes. One of them (Pseudoblias lyrifera) has been described briefly by Heegaard (1962), the other (Neobrachiochondria quadrata) is new to science and is considered to be the type species of a new genus. The morphological characteristics of both species are discussed and illustrated.

摘要:
A new species of terebellid Polychaeta,Scionella lornensis, is described from silty grounds on the west coast of Scotland. Its affinities with the generaScionellaandPistaare discussed and it is concluded that its closest relationship is with the former group, although it is shown that in the arrangement of the nephridia it corresponds with the latter.

摘要:
There are two ovaries with 41 to 51 polytrophic ovarioles. Copulation starts 20 to 30 hours after emergence and lasts for 30 to 45 min. A single mating is enough to make the female lay viable eggs throughout life. The ovulation takes place some time before the oviposition and a single ovum is ovulated from each ovariole at a time. The oviposition takes place in batches. The number of eggs in successive batches is not constant. Average interval between the successive batches ranges from 1·0 to 1·5 days. Anatomy and histology of the corpus luteum is described.

摘要:
The family Boganiidae (Sen Gupta & Crowson, 1966) is here divided into three distinct families Boganiidae, Cavognathidae and Phloeostichidae which are defined and their systematic positions discussed. The chief differences of adults and larvae are given in tabulated form. The generaTaphropiestesReitter andRhopalobrachiumBohemann are transferred to Cavognathidae and Phloeostichidae, and they are redefined. The family Phloeostichidae includes three subfamilies, Hymaeinae (includingRhopalobrachium) Sen Gupta & Crowson (1966), Phloeostichinae Crowson (1955) and Agapythinae nov. (AgapythoBroun). The larvae ofHydnobioides pubescens, Rhopalobrachium clavipesandAgapytho foveicollisare described with figures for the first time.
